Some of you may know I just struck on buying a 2014 Kubota 4060 today but I have found a 2008 Kubota MX 5100 for $22,500 with 320 hrs on it. It had something small fall on the hood and it put some small dents it. Other than that it is in very good condition. How is this tractor compared to the 4060? I appreciate your help and opinions!

Again you're comparing standard tractors to deluxe. Not apples to apples.

The MX series is a large frame standard L series tractor, nothing wrong with them at all it's basic tractor with no DPF system.

if you are looking for power and capability the MX will be far superior in power handling than a 4060. the 4060 will do 6 foot brush. the MX would likely do 8 foot and possibly larger depending on cutting conditions. if I had a MX 5800, I would likely try for a 10 foot brush cutter, 8 foot box blade. that price is damn good, and the hours aren't really of any concern. I'd be all over that MX personally.

" I'm looking more toward performance rather than horns , bells and whistles."

Look at the specs and you'll see the MX5100 is really, really close to the old Grand L30 Series and definitely a step up from the standard L, I looked at them all when I bought my L5030.

I personally would jump all over the MX5100 if you are comparing to an open station L60 and I truly love the Grand L.

2zwudz, that's just the Good Lord's way of getting you up to speed with all the options, models and your needs. It prevents buyer's remorse also! There's more of them out there.

Ok I am getting a little frustrated. Called back on the MX 5100 and it sold too. What the heck!
Not surprising, can't procrastinate on a good used tractor, my trade in 5030 with 1500 hours sold before it was even put out front.
