I have a new to me 2014 L39 with 900hrs. I have only put 2 hours on it and the tractor gives zero indication of any mechanical issues. This tractor is an upgrade from my L35 of which I owed for 10+ years.

As a prudent measure I performed a hydraulic filter and fluid change this weekend with Kubota UDT (~12gallons).

As you can see in the pictures (I'm having trouble attaching them currently) there are shavings, in size similar to thread cutting chips and one 4" long hair diameter material. The fluid was relatively clean, no obvious burn smell.

I have no history other than the current 900hrs and 313hrs written on the filter. Obviously I'm scared to death, but based on limited search this seems to be "common" to tractors around 50hours. In my opinion (sans the long hair like debris), the material looks like chips left over from cutting threads.

My plan is to run it for a few hours and check the filters.

What is your opinion? Thanks in advance!!

Is it possible the removed filter was the original? Typically the originals are painted grey like everything else.

Sounds like the filter done it's job! kinda sucks that there is that kind of contaminate in there though.
