So this may be a silly question but have to ask. I just took over a lease of a horse boarding facility and included was a newer M5040 deisel w/ROPS, no cab. I was looking it over last nite and couldnt figure out how to open the hood! I was kicking myself for being stumped over something so simple but for the life of me couldn't figure it out. So im swallowing my pride and asking, How do you open the hood???

There is a wire latch at the front and left hand side of the tractor. It is a few inches above the top of the axle. Pull it away from the tractor and the hood is hinged at the back.

Both of you should obtain the Owners Manual … It’ll tell you what you’re looking at and what to service it with. (The only reason to get under that hood is to check fluids, filters, etc….but without the knowledge of how/what/how-much…should you be in there at all?).
