Yes, it is variable speed. When engine is cold the pumps runs for 10 seconds off 30 seconds at 6 volts. At 36 F below setpoint pump runs 10 seconds off 10 seconds at 6 volts. At 9 F below setpoint pump runs continuously at varying speeds to control temperature to setpoint.
