Just bought a cheap, very tired B7100, 79 vintage gear drive. Engine runs good and has 50 psi oil pressure cold and 25 plus hot. Sounds good but starts only with glow plugs and has a lot of blow by when warmed up. Lots...
I wanna do rings and rod bearings only. Can I pull the oil pan on this tractor and do a quick "in frame" rebuild without pulling the engine?? Havent done this particular model before. If yes, I will evaluate condition more and send the head out to be checked out. I'll do what I need to , to make it run for 35 more years.
Its got a little whine in the tranny also, but not too worried about that just yet. Thanks for any help. Newbie to this site.......

Don't think you can get the pan off with out separating the engine from frame and raising to make room. By then you have the engine out.

If you're going to keep it, that would be a good time to replace the pin the front axle pivots on, along with the bushings. Because you can not get the pin out with the oil pan in place.
