Someday's are great, Someday's are good, Someday's are just ok, Someday's are poor, and Someday's just suck!

Today is one of those this sucks days!
Found out today our lovely malamute Mika most likely has lymphoma, won't get lab results back for a couple days. Not good at all, really not good!

I'll make her last days with us as good as I can, but dang it this sucks! :(

Despite the fact we don't always see eye to eye on everything, I see we both like pups. Prayers sent for you and her. Been through that before, I understand fully.

Remember, Dog spelled backwards is God.

Sorry to hear that Wolfman. Our pets become family members and it's really rough when we loose them. Hope it turns out to something less serious.

That kind of news just slaps us in the face. Immediately our values get analyzed and adjusted. We realize what was important one moment might not be quite that important in the long run.

The only peace I can find when one of our cherished ones leaves us, is knowing our pets are God's gift to us. How we threat them is our gift to God. Be at peace, Sean.

Sorry to hear that Sean. But, if the worst happens, you & I both know she has had the best life possible with you, Wendy, and the pack.

It is always hard when a beloved family member is given bad news. Every time, I swear I will never get another dog, but after some time passes, I end up bringing in a new bundle of joy and cherish the memories of those that have gone before.

Sorry NIWM.

Unfortunately, I know the feeling as well, we lost one of our shepherds last fall after 12 loyal years companionship, service, and protection. It is gut-wrenching in every way. Dogs give their all, and ask for nothing in return.

Relish your final days together. :)

Sorry to hear that. We got similar news back in August on one of ours with liver cancer. Letting him live large until it is time. Thoughts are with you and your family

So sorry to hear that. We've been there too, and it sucks!

Lets' hope for a false alarm. But if the tests are not favorable, make her remaining days the best, as she has done for you and your family all this time.....

Take care.

It's a pain like no other but let's hope for a false alarm. Our thoughts are with you and your wife along with fingers crossed and the odd prayer thrown in.

Thanks everyone!

Mika was rescued from a bad home 9 years ago.
She came to us scared and abused and thin as a rail she had just had pups, and at only year old herself.
She hid under a bed for three weeks, but with a lot of TLC she started to come around, she still jumps and leaves the room when the fly swatter or a broom comes out ( We think she was hit with them) so she still remembers her past.
She was separated from her pups too early so she's always been mom to everyone, She is a lhuge love all around!
For those that don't know we have 9, 4 legged kids here, and yes they are our kids, and get treated as such.

I'm smart enough to know that their lives are shorter than ours, and the reality is I will probably see all of them pass unless I beat them there, but it doesn't make it any easier!

You do have some redeeming qualities I see.... Good. God will shine on you.

Only 9? We have 2 pups (strays) and I think at last count, 37 cats, all strays again. 9 in the house, rest outside keeping the hay and equipment barn rodent free (well maybe because they get fed way too much cat food).

We have this sign out by the road that I cannot read that says... Stray, abused and unwanted animals welcome here.....

Seems as though they can read it just fine.:)

Sorry to hear. That is the one bad part of having pets. They leave us too soon.

My wife has been faithful about getting a Christmas tree ornament with a picture of all our pets over 30+ years.

Seeing those faces can be really hard....:(

Like bear said - it hurts....

Sean - - that sweet girl deserves a special Christmas treat, regardless of how the tests come back...

Again, my prayers....

Hoping for the best possible outcome. It's a grim prognosis. So sorry, it is so hard when their needs exceed our abilities to save them when they have relied on us for so long.

Raised Shepards years ago. When I lost the last one I quit. Just couldn't deal with losing another - just got too attached. Sorry to hear about yours.
