I'm pretty sure it's a doable swap, but I'd wait for North Idaho Wolfman to confirm. There are a lot of V2203 versions.

I had an L3250 with a bad crankshaft. It was more work then I wanted to switch it out, because I couldn't find a crank. And I remember having the same conversation. Good luck with your project!

First I'll warn you as there is 4 different distinct versions of the V2203, so it's not all black and white on a swap.
There is a V2203 IDI version that will not work at all.
There is a V2203 DI version ( This actually includes quite a few sub models of this engine) that will not work as it does not have the right gear case (timing gear cover) to clear the frame.
There is a V2203 DI version that will work with some mods (link the one Wild Fire used in his swap) but parts are expensive and vary from hard to imposible to get.
There is a V2203 DI version that will work as it was an ag motor, but they are like the holy grail of engines, and when sold they sell for 5K or more even dead.

So with knowing that let me see if I can cover this easily as someone's already been down this road, and you read this story too, and yes exact same issues as with a V1902...

so best i go with v2203di, how hard is it to swap the timing covers off v1902, also my v1902 has geared fuel camshaft not keyed!

Your not reading what I wrote...
You also need to go back and read the last 5 pages of all the issues that Wild and Free ran into trying to find the right cam.

It's not as simple as going just with a V2203 DI, as there is multiple versions of the V2203 DI's, only a few of those will work.

The front gear case cover is not the same porting or crank shaft seal size and you can not swap them between the two.

And no the fuel camshaft is not keyed, it's splined and the spline is not present on 90% of the cams, and can not just be added, you would have to buy the right fuel cam and replace it, but that is near to impossible to get.
