Several days ago someone posted in a thread that the emissions (only) warranty for the B3350 had been extended to eight years. At the time, I asked from where this information was derived.

I cannot recall if the thread was here or on TBN but have not been able to locate the thread in either forum.

Today I asked the service manager at my dealer if he had heard anything about this, and he told me that he had not. He volunteered to check the warranty expiration dates of my B3350 using the SN and, as expected, Kubota reported 5 years.

Has anyone heard anything about this urban myth?

I don't have anything to offer on the emissions warranty on the B3350. I do, however, remember reading the post you're referring to. It was on here 3 weeks ago (even though I would have sworn it was within the last week). Here's a link, if it will let me post it. If not, the thread title was DPF Question, and the comment on the 8 year emissions warranty was made by eserv.

I was told by a mechanic at my local dealer that the waranty on V1505 tier 4 engines was increased to 8 years. They never sold one so he could be confused. (or I could have heard something that wasn't what he meant) Next time I'm in I'll ask again. It does seem too good to be true!

The EPA has emission warranty requirements, in some instances up to eight years. This applies to testing for vehicles operated on the road when they fail an emission test. The key concept here is failing an emission test. Since tractors are normally off road vehicles they're treated differently and apparently mostly up to the manufacturers' discretion.

My 2014 3350 I bought last November. I was concerned with my warranty so I checked with another dealer today and my emissions warranty is still five years.

That’s a Requirement of EPA.

Well aware of that.

There was what appears to be an urban myth that Kubota might have extended the emissions warranty on the B3350 (only) to eight years.

Apparently, this was a false rumor.

With the USA - Canadian exchange rate, 5 years here, 8 years there, sounds about right. :D:D:D
