Anyone had any luck cleaning the exposed FEL Hydraulic Rods that go up into the cylinders. I know the last four inches is always exposed but i have some paint overspray on them I would like to clean up. Do you use steel wool, wet sandpaper or ? The last inch or so that does go back into the cylinders has some built up grease, tree sap or ? that needs cleaning what do you use?

Don't use sandpaper as that will damage the surface. Use a 00 steel wool with wd40. That will get you the results your looking for.

Paint overspray can be removed with many solvents, from gasoline to paint thinker. Just dampen a rag and wipe it off.
