You need to have a rear remote or you can add lines from your 3rd function to operate the top link.

You're better off using rear remotes than using the 3rd function. The kubota kit works pretty good and bolts on exactly like it's supposed to. I have seen guys make their own using TSC or attwood's stuff and then it comes to the shop with hydraulic system problems immediately after the DIY install. An installer or DIY'er MUST understand the open center hydraulic system; how it works, and how it won't work, in order to properly (and safely) do your own. A small leak in a fitting or hose or valve can easily pierce your skin.
