I looked in the workshop manual and searched a bunch online. Couldn’t find the location of the transmission strainer. I read that it’s 26mm and near the left tire.

Is it the bolt that looks like it goes through the vertical tube, just under the left rear axle? Is it the large bolt in my pic? Thanks.

ETA: The pic rendered sideways and needs to be turned clockwise.

Yes, you are correct. That is where the strainer is located. See attached fig item 030. There are two o-rings as well (one on each side of the tube).

Is 26mm correct? Of course Fleet Farm only carries sockets up to 24mm and wrenches are either 24mm or 27mm.

not sure, but it doesn't matter. You can use a large crescent wrench if necessary, as they really aren't that tight...That's what the o-rings are for.

If you have SAE, try 1" or 1-1/16".

Picked up a 26 mm socket at the auto parts store. Thanks.

When I got my Kubota, I ended up buying several individual sockets 26-30mm or 32..just in case. At $3-5 each, cheaper than buying a set.

If you have a mower deck, the deck bolts may be 30mm.

30mm = 1-3/16 IIRC

I try to refrain from using s 'West Virginia Socket Set' whenever possible they are real good at rounding off hex head bolts.

Harbor Freight has a complete Metric or SAE set for 20 bucks each in black oxide (impact) and they are indestructable. I know, I've tried.:)
