I have (3) duplicate 5C collets, all Hardinge, used but serviceable, and wondered if any of you fellow Machinists/Toolmakers have any duplicates in your stash you'd like to trade?
Sizes are:
1/4" round, w/internal thread
7/16" round w/o internal thread
1/2" round w/internal thread
If interested, post your duplicate sizes and if you have something I can use, we'll swap.
Or maybe swap for something else?

I have a few duplicate 5C collets. Let me look and see what I have. I am pretty sure I already have 1/4, 7/16, and 1/2 though.

Anyone need a nice Tryoke 36" rotary table? I have one that I'd give away if you pick it up. Have an LS Starrett Weber Gauge Height master with riser as well and an extra LS Starrett Weber pink granite toolroom surface plate with one ledge.

Have a complete set of 3AT collets with spanner and closer for a South Bend Lathe including wood box but those aren't fee.

I have a few extra 5C collets but I do already have a 1/4, 7/16, and 1/2. I have 3 Hardinge collets without the internal thread, 1/8, 3/16 and 5/16. I have a no-name 5/8 without the internal thread.
Kinda what I suspected. You have all the ones I have dupes of, and I have all the ones you have dupes of.
Well, it was worth a try. Thanks for checking.
I should probably keep them anyway; I have a 5C tool post holder for the lathe, and today I ran into a situation where I needed two 1/2". My 1/2" was in the tool post holder, holding a boring bar, and I needed another for the spindle.
What do you want for the 5/8"? I use a lot of 5/8 boring bars.

SidecarFlip- I'd probably love to have that surface plate, (depending on the size) but you're not exactly in my neighborhood.

It's a toolmakers plate in excellent condition. I think it's 12 x 14. Got it as a promotion from LSS a few years ago.

Got a couple machine tools I need to sell as well. 2 lathes for sure, one, a South Bend benchtop with quick change gearbox, fully tooled, restored and an Atlas (Kalamazoo Michigan) floor lathe, again completely tooled (even has a spindle grinder attachment) in pristine condition. The Atlas has multiple chucks, faceplates and tailstock attachments plus a taper attachment and is the tapered roller bearing headstock and is a 110 / 1 machine.

Just taking up space for me in the corner of the shop.

I looked up the "Tryoke 36" rotary table" couldn't even find one that big, biggest I could find is a 30" and they were $5k to $7.5K...

I can't find "LS Starrett Weber Gauge Height master with riser" or even a LS Starrett Webber Gage height Master (proper spelling).

I can find the "LS Starrett Weber" (Webber) "pink granite tool room surface plate with one ledge", but I can't find one for sale to even know what they run.

So you telling us you'll give them away for free if we come pick it up?

I would guess that it would be nearly impossible to sell a 36" rotary table.
99.9999% on the people out there would have no idea what it was, and the few who did know seldom need anything that big. And you probably need a crane to move it.
I have a 5" & a 10", and my shop at work had a couple of 16". I think the biggest the main plant shop had was a 20".

I recently did another 5C collet swap/purchase and have more duplicates:

1/16 Hardinge, no internal thread
9/64 Hardinge, no internal thread
11/64 Enco, with internal thread
13/16 RSB, no internal thread
(2) 15/16 Hardinge, no internal thread
61/64 un-branded, with internal thread

All are used, but clean & serviceable.
As before, if you have dupes I can use, we can swap.
If not, $4 each, plus shipping.
Or swap for something else?

When I worked for my father, we did a CNC retrofit on an old table lathe. It had a 16' Table/Chuck with a 21' swing. Next to it was a 8' manual rotary table. When we left it was a 4 axis machine.

This is the ACTUAL machine that has cut all the metal bearings in our Navy ships propeller shafts. A very cool job. We ended up retrofitting a bunch of their machines. You just can't replace those old monsters.

Guess I need to do some pictures....

I bet the Troyke weighs 500 pounds. Little big for a home shop.

I would have guessed even more. My shop at work had an ultra precision 16" Mitutoyo with precision angle tilt that weighed near 300lbs.

It's under my inspection bench and has been there for a while. I don't own any machine with the table capacity to use it.

The rotary table certainly, not the surface plate, I use that. Better bring something stout, that table is heavy.

Got a Starrett analog height master with riser block too. Makes a dandy paper weight at 50 pounds.
