From the way the wires looks to me, and Im far from being an expert but it looks like this tractor it has been re-harnessed at some point since it was new. Anyway as you can see in the picture Ive had a loose wire (no puns please ) since Ive owned it.
I know Voltage is going to the glow plugs.
This look like a ground (green w/yellow stripe) wire with a push-on, female, terminal. There is nowhere to attach it for that type of connector. I dont know if its missing or what.
If the experts want me to I can put an eyelet connector on there and ground it under that bolt thats to the left of the glow plug in the picture.
Thanks

It looks like it already has a female spade connector attached to it. Is there a male spade connector anywhere within reach of the wire?

Sorry Im not good at explaining these things.
You are exactly right and thats what I was trying to say.
It does have the female on the end of the wire but there is no male connector anywhere close within reach.
Thanks

I wonder if the previous owner had some add on device.
Have you checked where the other end is attached?
Measured it with a volt meter with all things on?
If someone used whatever wire they had and did not follow color code it may be 12+ volts.
May want to tape it off.

The wire that is not connected is for a temp gauge. You can see the plug on top of the head that can be removed and a temp sender installed. What model tractor is this?

Thanks for all the help.
Just got back home and will try and check voltage this evening.
I looked at the wiring diagram earlier and I cant find a horn at all.
Im working on my L245F
Temperature Gauge...I will check that out because I think thats pretty darn important.
Thanks again.

Well of all the schematics I have to look at, none of them even show a Green / yellow stripe ever being used.
That model wasn't equipped with a temp gauge.
See if you can find the other end. ;)

Yes thats what I noticed that there is no temp gauge and no horn and I couldnt find that color wire either in the wire diagram
I think its possible it was wired with a harness from a different model.
I did check for voltage and there is no voltage there.
Im not sure where the other end is but Im 99% sure its sitting loose unconnected behind the instrument panel because now that I think about this problem I remember seeing a couple of loose wires back there when I had the instrument panel loose while I was replacing the steering gear box.
Im pretty sure my glow plugs are grounded through another or different common ground somewhere or I would think it would blow a fuse.
I guess I will tape it off and secure it to the side for now.
When I get time first of next week I will see if I can find the other end behind the instrument panel.
Should there be a separate ground wire for glow plugs ?
Thanks for all the help.

The head and block are the ground points for the glow plugs, so yes, no other ground is required. ;)

Everything else seems to be working just fine so I guess I have a spare.
Thanks much for the help.
