Hi all,
I'm about to replace the water pump on my L245DT. It is a brand new unpainted pump.
I have a can of the correct Kubota engine paint bought from my Kubota dealer. Do I need to prime the metal first or can I go straight to engine blue?
Thanks

I expect the Kubota engine paint would bond well on bare, newly-cleaned metal. If you don't know what has been done to the pump, it would be best to thoroughly clean and dry it before painting.

However, if it were me, I'd run over to Ace Hardware, get a can of Ace Rust Stop and spray a very light coat. Stuff dries for over-coating very quickly.

Keep in mind, if you don't want the "tractor porn" Nazis to scream at you: "Without pics, it didn't happen!", take some pics of your job.
