I searched on the internet about info on the new diesel fuel in older motors and there is a lot of info out there.
My question is that if you do use additives then what do you use ?
Like brand name and possibly how much ?
Thanks

Just for anyone who doesnt mind reading some neat tests...

I read the document and his numbers are very interesting, but there is a big problem with his cost numbers, he does not include the cost of his products needed to treat the fuel, so overall fuel cost would likely be higher when his product cost is factored in. However, it might be lower if you consider maintenance and longevity issues, so I would have liked to have seen a full cost benefit analysis in the paper.

Another issue is that the author seems to have products that are bulk sold and vended to given industrial platforms, not consumer grade products. This is fine for his target of fleet managers, but for us consumers, it's of less value.

A true triple independent lab analysis of all major additive products on the market would resolve the issue to most people's satisfaction... Anyone aware of such a blind, independent study?

I've read something like this. Found it either on Cummins forum or mopar1973man forum. If I remember right 2 cycle oil with the TC-3 spec. ranked among the best choice. I used to run it in the 2000 Ram Cummins I had at 1 oz/gallon and I saw a 1 mpg increase. Plus the peace of mind that comes with adding lubricity to the ULSD fuel. Had almost 300,000 miles on it when it sold and ran great even with the original injectors. I did go through 2 injection pumps before I started using the 2 cycle oil but that was due to the failure prone stock lift pumps.

I hope that someone gets something out of all those numbers. When I was reading it I had to stop and walk away from the computer. I went back and finished but I was frustrated because I couldnt understand the results. I did like how he said that its the consumers job to research.
Im glad some of you can understand it and I hope it helps some way or another.
I will be glad to post any independent studies should I find any.
Thanks
Interesting about the 2 cycle oil with TC-3 specs.
Thanks again.

Two cycle was interesting but notice the blend ratios... That's a bit of 2 cycle oil. This one caught my eye...

FPPF RV, Bus, SUV Diesel/Gas Fuel Treatment

But it looks like they've changed the name, probably this product now...

Messicks is much cheaper though...

However, they have a dedicated Agriculture product that looks like it will deal with all that ails our Kubota's...

Maybe a combination of the items.
