I’m sure that is possible. I have read many posts stating different configurations including many that start as long as the PTO is off and the DT shuttle or HST range levers are in neutral. It may be that it varies by year. It seems odd that the 2502DT has no switch on the clutch. Switches are...
It has no clutch pedal, it has a switch. When the switch is off, it is the same as having the clutch disengaged (pressed in) on a 2501.
I don’t have a HST but I have seen my friend start his 2501HST while standing next to it many times. He told me that as long as the pedal was in the neutral...
So what exactly is the difference between a carry all full of weight on the back of my tractor, and a loader bucket full of weight on the back of my tractor?
A trailer would be more of a hinderance than anything else. The firewood I would haul on it would be the ballast in the loader bucket...
Dang, If I was on an ATV going that fast with that cutter, I would hit a gopher hole, cutter would dig in under a big root or rock, and it would not be pretty. 😳
But I like the cutter….
I use a homemade grabber. It’s much faster than wrapping and tying chain, and it pinches the tree or shrub and the pipe digs in so the chain doesn’t slip. Just use a chain with a hook and slip it thru a short pipe. Wrap it around the tree and hook to on the pipe. Then pull….
Added Some angle iron so I could mount a toolbox to the rear to replace that little pencil box from Kubota. Built a mount for my little Stihl 200T to sit on the fender. Clamped it thru cup holder hole so I didn’t have to drill the fender.
Thanks Skeets. I like that idea but it doesn’t serve my needs which are to maximize efficiency by using the loader to haul wood on the rear.
With the loader on the rear and grapple on the front, I drive into woods to clear trails, and see a fallen oak. I cut it and drop the cut wood in my...
Thanks Hedgehog. That is exactly like I envisioned using it. The adapter arrives tomorrow and I will try it out. Depending on how often I find myself taking the bucket off and on, I may go with a T &T. That would be nice to have when using my box blade.
Thanks Wolfman…. I figured it was not easy or people would be doing it. I will use it as is until I can determine what my best option is. Most likely it will be a carryall. I think I will be ok for ballast with my tires loaded.
Yeah, that’s my concern. I won’t know until I look at the angles and see how much I can adjust the top link to tilt the bucket. I expect I will need to rig up some sort of cargo net to keep things secure.
My thought was that I would store the bucket on the rear so that it was available for use no matter where I was. I have 97 acres of timber and trails. I will be clearing brush, cutting firewood, leveling trails, moving a little dirt. It’s just much easier if I keep them both with the tractor and...
I’ll investigate. Thanks! I guess I’m really trying to use my front bucket as a carryall anyway. I could probably buy a carryall for the price of the 3-pt adapter.
No. I will rarely use the 3-point. I was hoping I could adjust the top link so that the angle was right to connect to the bucket when it was resting on the ground. Tractor is being delivered tomorrow so I will be able to see how it all lines up. Heck it may be that whatever I put in that mounted...
