So I finally got some time this weekend to look at this issue. Went to loosen the IP bleeder screw and it snapped off. *sigh* Sometimes I think this tractor hates me.

It was a ground issue. The quick disconnect terminal added by the previous owner had gone bad. Connected that directly to the neg terminal and it fires right up! Thanks for the help.

Battery tested and it passed. Found a parts diagram on the kubota site and was able to identify and test the starter relay, glow lamp timer, and glow plug relay as functional. However, there's no 12V power detected at the power plug points for those two relays. Is this a harness issue?

Will do. Kinda frustrating because I JUST bought this battery not 6 months ago from the local auto parts.

I pulled out the tie rods and some of the unnecessary items (how do they get away with selling a $160 L-shaped bracket???) I'm down a couple thousand from where it was, so I'll have to pull the trigger on that. First order of business: ballasts!

So I got the repair bid back from the Kubota service dealer. OUCH. They want to replace pretty much the entire front end. Service guy thinks there was water in the front end. Wants to replace all the bearings/seals/bushings due to some rust on the bearings and leaky seals, which I had noticed...

I think this is the point at which I take it to my local service dealer. Replacing a pinion ring is not something I want to mess with on my driveway in December :( I'll let them sort out which P/N I need.

Ok, I get it now. After staring at the parts diagrams for a while I went outside and turned the front wheels manually while looking at the coupler. I can see it shake like it wants to turn and then slip. So I'm guessing the teeth are broken on the coupler. I'm going to see if I can source one...

Hmmmm... that's the part I thought I just saw spinning?

Pulled the cover back and the shaft is spinning when in 4wd. I guess that means the problem is deeper inside the pinion. :(
