I had the same problem and found an easy fix. Hope this helps you..... All I had to do was to charge the battery. My battery had enough charge to start the engine but not enough to keep it running. Good Luck!

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the battery. Mine had enough juice to start the tractor, but not enough voltage to keep it running. I charged the battery and the issue was fixed. It's worth a shot since it's a cheap and easy fix. Good Luck, Mags
