Tunaslayer glad you got your tractor. I also got mine this week. Still liking the smaller one for what I needed. It looks like you are doing a lot of what I want to do as well. I am looking into adding square or round metal behind top of FEL before adding hooks. One add I see is a shackle inside...

    Wood Grapple Build

Very nice. I used to be able to weld like that but someone told me not to do that work in my sleep. Great dreaming though. In reality I am lucky when it grinds smooth. There is a reason I buy manufactured implements. Others are much better at cutting and welding.

    2017 Incentives

I just signed and picked up my BX25D1 and all I could get was the $500 implement rebate. Problem was when I got home the $500 instant was not there. Now we are going back to get it from dealer. We could not find any other incentives. We did get 84 months at 0%. Some need to post 20% down but we...

    Going orange

Took delivery yesterday. My trailer was still full of gravel so I ended up using neighbors 20 foot tilt bed. So much extra room on the trailer. But I did take advantage an measured from bucket to tail and it is 15 feet long with a back hoe pointing back. Later I will play backing into my 12...

    Salt spreader recommendation please

The one I posted is a poly tank. The problem is the actual spreaders are metal and they will corrode if not cared for. Just like the cars out east that do not wash off the salt and silt each storm.

Still waiting on the call but I did pick up forklift arms and a 3pt auger already. The auger was used with a 12 inch and 6 inch bit at $400. Forks are bolt on 1500 pounders but bucket is limited at 700 pounds so I figured no need to fabricate or make a big deal of it. Dealers get $1100 for the...

    Salt spreader recommendation please

Not a fan of salting but I would use one like this and be sure to rinse and clean regularly. Get a cover as water mixing in is bad news for clumping and corrosion. http://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/countyline-poly-fertilizer-spreader-350-lb?cm_vc=-10005

    BX25d1 and auger

Thank you. I have seen many of these videos. As I read other forums I am getting 50-50 on the reviews. Some say the BX25 can handle a 12 inch auger others limit it to 6/9 inchers. I am in SW Missouri with rocky soil 12-18 inches deep. Sometimes it is only 1-4 inch rock but other areas I have...

Guess I won't be buying anytime soon

It could be like Harbor Freight where they continue to say the item is on sale yet never have I seen the item at full price. The finance offers are still there for a majority of the tractors. 0% for 4-7 years. Rebates for implements went down for the BX by $1000 but I did not understand how that...

    BX25d1 and auger

Can the BX25D handle an auger with a 6 inch bit? The dealer was very hesitant to sell one. I have seen the PD10 fits and I know a 12 inch bit would be a lot to ask, but I am getting older and would like to be able to dig 18-24 inch post holes for small fencing. A 6 inch bit would be enough for me.

    Going orange

Big Disappointment today at dealer. Suddenly the tractors they ordered 3 weeks ago may not be there for another 4-6 weeks. Then the salesman was charging much more than other dealers and knew nothing about options and.......... Long Story short tomorrow is a new day and a new dealer. Starting...

Guess I won't be buying anytime soon

Many old dealers still have great package deals and the ability to offer deals that are not published. My dealer is offering things that come out of his end but are not available elsewhere. The rebates were nice but not that much of a deal breaker. Even the financing did not change much so I am...

    Going orange

Great hearing all of this. I am in SW Missouri and mild rolling 10.5 acres. My neighbor is using 7 acres for his love of Holstein cows and in trade he runs a 60HP tractor with large Bush Hog in the field. I need the backhoe for what I used to use a shovel. I just got a new hip after fighting VA...

Home made brush hog / grass cutter

For now we are going with new 4 foot Landpride cutter. Tractor is on order should be ready next week. I will look into fabricating the top mounts after I have my tractor. One guy down the street used forklift pads on the top of his and uses a front mounted Swisher. I would be afraid of flying...

    Going orange

I have rented a Kubota more times than I can remember over the last 30 years. The size of the jobs I was able to do with such small tractors has been unbelievable. The dealer wants me to buy a B26 but I am retired and have plenty of time. I am going for a BX25d1 without a belly mower. It is...

    BX preheat

Many glow plugs swell with excessive heat. Most just burnout with excessive time. Yes they are intended to glow but for a set amount of time. I have pulled several swollen plugs out of motor so I caution on the side of less time. Block heaters are cheap compared to pulling heads. Best yet is...

Home made brush hog / grass cutter

I like this idea. I have plenty of used models to choose from but I also have Swisher Pull behind mower to use. Pulling is awkward but if I make the top like yours I can run the 18hp motor and use 3pt hitch to raise and lower the mower. Mostly grass and light saplings for me but I need the...

    Multi-use Thumb Grapple

Very nice. I like the fore thought to add the shackle plate for chains when not using the grapple.

    L2501 tlb

Curious what the end was on this. I just looked at a B26 TLB and was quoted $30k. It is a much heavier and stronger construction tractor. I am still trying to justify the $30k and bouncing between the BX25d and B26. Only a few financing days left this year.

    Wanted - Tire Chains

I used to sell chains in California. Tractor chains became a user preference more than what works best universally. My vendor would make custom cuts so I could upgrade to 8mm alloy chains 2 link or 4 link even adding cross ladders making them an H pattern. Once you find your preference many...
