    Ramp suggestions

Single axle trailers are great for lawns and grass areas. They do no damage to anyone's property. As long as you balance the load well there is nothing wrong with a single axle. I too am using a single axle 12 footer for my rig. Ramps are 2x2 1/4 inch angles with 1.5x1.5 crosses spaced 10...

    How to trim trees quickly...

We just hired a guy to clear our pond. Come out with 2 skid steers. One had a grinder head that ate trees. If it was too tall he would hit the middle and drop it then grind down the stump. Back to the topper and grind it too. Ate up 2 acres of soft trees in 6 hours. The second had a cutter...

What Brand Hydraulic / Tractor oil does the orange like best?

Went back to the dealer and bought Kubota Oil. Pricing it was cheaper to buy by the gallon. 2 gallon jugs were most per gallon fivers not much better. About 20.50 a gallon in 1 gal jugs. Sometimes I make things too complicated.

What Brand Hydraulic / Tractor oil does the orange like best?

Yes I understand the need for Super UDT2 but TSC and Chevron also have a Super UDT2 oil as well now. I have read how the BX runs hotter and the other hyd oils will not hold up.

What Brand Hydraulic / Tractor oil does the orange like best?

Well I am at 10 hours and checked levels. Hydraulic oil is low. I know my old 7.3 was picky about what oil I used and brand and my little Fiat only likes synthetic but does brand matter on a new BX25D1? Manual only states Kubota Super UDT-2. Not exactly available everywhere close by but worth...

    Burning wood pile with BX25

A lot of great thoughts here. I will not be as aggressive on the next pile. I found TP Soaked in diesel works great for ignition as well as old hay on the bottom. I wish I could give up the $2000 for a grapple but too many other needs right now. For now I will be running two saws and keeping the...

    Burning wood pile with BX25

Great points. I did forget one of the best tools I used. They call me Citified here but I am allergic to ash and many of the molds and mosses here. I used a 3M filter for mold and small particulates. I did not wear the pink filtered mask for this picture though. Normally for a week I am out and...

    Burning wood pile with BX25

It has taken some getting used to. I am a bit large and riding this little guy can be comical. With each hour I am getting better. The power is very limiting. I watched the tree guys cut stack grapple flip toss and play with these trees like toddlers and lincoln logs. For the BX it was a...

    Piranha Tooth Bar - disadvantages?

I get mine this week. I will post pictures of what it looks like.

    Piranha Tooth Bar - disadvantages?

I was bouncing between the two bars as well. What sold me on Piranha was the ability to still back drag with the teeth on and get a flat surface. I am used to bolt on teeth to tip the bucket down and scratch the surface so I can dig. Then I was clearing out a field fence and the roots kept me...

    New guy

Hey Missouribound we must be neighbors. I got the BX25D1 and I too am finding the need for 4WD and also the locker pedal. I can dig and push dirt much better using both. I am prepping my property now for Spring and summer cutting so I can use the 4 ft cutter along fence lines and down into my...

    tool bag

Always a better idea out there. Suddenly I find this post and love it. Especially the orange chain and location. http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28159

    Custom B2650 toolbox

Great job great location. I thought I nailed it with a canvas bag behind the cup holder until I saw this. Next fab job for me coming up. I am using light grade 5/16 x 20 as I like more space between me and what I am pulling. I have extra double hooks if I need to shorten the chain. Still to have...

    tool bag

Leave it in the rain? Heck if it is going to rain I am staying inside and the tractor will be in the barn. :) Then again it is a canvas bag and it will shed water quick. The tools can take a bit of water so can the gloves. The tool boxes all seem to get in the way so far. Still looking for...

    tool bag

I have seen many really cool modifications and with only a few hours on my own tractor I am continually looking for the same few tools. A tool box of sorts was needed soon. Many fabricated old boxes to fit between the ROPS and Manufacturers made brackets to limit even more the easy access to...

    B2601 or B2650

I too have small acreage and chose the BX as I also want to haul it without a commercial rig. I also have some water culverts to mow with steep sides and the BX was better for that. Everyone has their own needs. It looks like you have made a good well informed choice. If you can make it work it...

    It's Official...

I used the frame to bring it home. The straps slid some and after time would show wear. I would prefer fixed hook points short of using the bucket or BH. Everyone I know uses the frame and I have not seen any problems with losing the tractor that way. On the front of the frame by the guard I...

    It's Official...

I am still on the fence with which bolt on teeth I want. The piranha looks nice but I also like the old fashioned 2" wide teeth evenly spaced. For now I am staying with the smooth bucket as I am still getting used to my box blade. The belly plate is a great add. I have only 20 hours or so and I...

How did I do on this deal?

Are you smiling? Then it is a great deal. There will always be a better deal and possibly an outstanding deal, but when you wait too long many times all you get is a deal. I bought a much smaller BX and many neighbors think I will be unhappy. For me an old retired gimp to have anything I can...

BX25D or wait for the 23S?

I am curious as to the price. I just bought a BX25d1 with box blade, 4 ft rotary cutter and it came with backhoe and 3pt arms. We paid just under $22k total. The 23s looks like they added a few more options that I could have had for another $1000. The quick connects are cute but with this small...
