Post Hole Digger makes life better :)

I saw "Rode for more than 50 years" and thought wow that's a long time. Then I started counting back myself, from 67 to 16, so I guess I have as well LOL. I've ridden in all of the lower 48 as well as Canada but didn't ride all that much in the last 2 years. But my projects are completed so I'm...

Thanks ctfjr. My land is very rocky so if I end up with one i'll stock up on shear bolts! Curious do you ride an FJR?

Post Hole Digger makes life better :)

I've been considering one mostly for planting small trees. Any that you recommend or ones to avoid? If I do get one it won't get that much use so I was thinking of one from someplace like TSC, but if they don't work that well I'll go with a brand name.

    New L2501 purchased today

Sounds like a fair price to me, congratulations. No 3rd function in the front so I guess not anticipating a grapple. In addition to the right side handle you might pick up the extra air filter to add over the single filter that comes on L2502's, actually a prefilter I guess. It comes standard on...

    How good is alternate energy?

Of course it does but it's storage. Consider they're using surplus electricity that there's no use for, waste electricity. Only rather than waste it, it is utilized to make hydrogen which can be stored to be used to make electricity when the wind isn't blowing or sun shining.

    Any L3301 Recommendations?

I should try a gear L sometime because although I've become more tolerant of it I agree with you about the hydro whine. Plowing maybe, but for mowing IMO there's no comparison, an HST is far better than gear. To be efficient I'm continuously changing speed while mowing for all sorts of reasons...

Seems like a very good price Pete, congratulations.

    How good is alternate energy?

Making hydrogen (and oxygen) from water and surplus electricity, then storing the hydrogen to be used when required to run gas fired turbines. Mitsubishi is doing this now. (Pumping water uphill INTO a hydroelectric dam has been done for years)

    R1 vs R4 for L3901

I find R4's to be ok going forward and back like in loader work, but slippery on side slopes such as wet grass. R3 turfs offer more traction under most condition with R1's the most especially in mud. I might pick R14's if I were deciding now.

I see. Yeah I wouldn't burn debris, putting the smoke and carbon in the air anyway.

    Need Flail Mower Recommendations

Curious why do you guys use chippers? I just pile limbs and other material in the woods or somewhere out of the way to become habitat before it eventually decomposes. Never mind I suppose it's to create wood chips for landscaping.

    2021 Updated BX 2680

Yeah if you want it for this Spring season it probably should have been ordered a couple months ago. But maybe you'll luck into finding one coming in, in a couple months that's not already spoken for. Do you still have the 8N? If so here's a comparison someone with one wrote up after trying an...

    Need Flail Mower Recommendations

My only comment on Woodmaxx service is they were helpful on the phone when I ordered advising me to get Y cutters opposed to hammers for my application and I received my FM-62 in 3 days. I haven't needed anything for it so I can't comment what all they keep in inventory. It certainly seems to be...

    Credit Rating Nonsense

Gas is one place I always use a card because it just takes too much time to go inside and wait in line to pay with cash, some places you must get in line twice. You go in to leave a deposit then back in again after filling up, and at least one of those times people in front of you are buyimng...

    Credit Rating Nonsense

Post 2 OK touché' .... by the time I read through the entire thread I forgot the second post made by you already brought up credit affecting insurance. But I don't know of anyone who doesn't need credit, that keeps borrowing money in order to be able to borrow money? The whole point is the...

    Credit Rating Nonsense

LOL I don't stay up nights worrying about anything Cat. People just need to be aware their credit score not only determines if they can get credit and at what rate, it also can affect other things such as your insurance rate and Lord knows what else.

    Credit Rating Nonsense

Not true. Also people who want the lowest insurance rate.

    Credit Rating Nonsense

FICO score has always been a pet peeve of mine if for no other reason because I periodically get a notice from Nationwide disclosing "that my credit score may affect my rate." Why in the f*** would that be the case as I've been with them for years? Shouldn't the history they have on me paying...

Why do you use a toothbar?

The bucket on my L is 66". I had a barely used, 48" tooth bar from my old B7500 so I purchased an extra 48" bucket and bolted the tooth bar to it. It's turned out to be really handy having two buckets. I use the 48" one for digging or when I need to do something in the woods because it's a *lot*...
