What does everyone collect or do for a hobby?

I collect old John Deere Tractors, 80s trucks, and chainsaws. Wife collects little dogs. Lost gun collection in a boating accident.

    Looking at grapples

The wife signed for my Pinnacle grapple today. Just under 6 weeks since order. Will update next week when I make it home to use it.

    Z421 Wheel Change

Thanks I would think so as well. For now I lowered the PSI down to 6 (from 12). I'll probably go ahead and order wider wheels if I can find a set at a good price.

    Cabelas

The vacation folks at BPS/Cabelas' are easy to disarm - when we walk by I smile, say "No thanks" and might make small talk, but don't ever stop. No reason to be rude about it but I'm under no obligation to answer questions either. My parents ended up getting taken into one of their...

    Cabelas

BPS and Cabelas are both owned by BPS. They have their place and usage. Kids love going to look at the "fishing store". Most of the RedHead brand clothing/shoes I've bought over the years at BPS is garbage, unfortunately. Just bought a new compound bow for hunting, "Blackout" house brand...

    High Use or Professional Chainsaws

Couple months back I stopped in the JD dealer to order a part for my tractor. They carry full line of Stihl. I asked about the 500i, was told "Impossible to get, must order AND prepay $1429". Declined and left. Next week when picking up the part, guess what there were two 500i's on the...

    High Use or Professional Chainsaws

If you're still looking for opinions, here's mine. I have a significant investment in Stihl, Husqvarna, and Echo saws. Outside of Echo, don't even consider the consumer models, some of which you have listed. There's just not a big enough cost difference to account for the lesser quality...

    L3902 leaking oil

Nah, it's frustrating to be having warranty issues before the first payment. What was the problem?

    Z421 Wheel Change

I bought a new z421/54" deck this spring for a good price. One of the reasons I chose the z over competing makes was the larger wheel and tire size, it has 24x9.5x14 rear wheels. I noticed when cutting that my grass is showing signs of compaction as we have sand soil here. The 60" deck...

L2501 Hydraulic Overfill resolve. (2021 L2501 still under warranty)

I don't think so - I also had the same problem as OP, leaking 3-rd function kit and I overfilled. The tractor ran fine but it jerked hard when I shut down, like the HST was engaging. Had no problems prior to adding fluid. Drained 1/2 gallon out until level in center of card, been working...

When the wind decides to turn a barn into a chicken coop!

So what, he's driving back another 5 hours, to whip your ass? For some reason not sure that would go well for him, better keep Ruger around just in case. That's an obvious omission of details (snow loading) - intentional or not, it's unfortunate for both parties resulting in wasted time, fuel...

Another Newbie Contemplating a New Purchase

What did you decide? Upon review of your photos I recommend a gun with snakeshot for that swampy water.

Another Newbie Contemplating a New Purchase

Might be better off if the neighbors dont' talk to you at the grocery store! My vote is for a MX6000, MX5400 if you can find a good deal on one. I have a L2501 and think it would be a little small, but passable, for the tasks you're discussing. The L3901/2 are the same frame size, just more...

Thinking about buying a Z422KW-54 zero turn

Good machine. I bought a z421KW54 two weeks ago. The dealer had two left and gave me a heckuva deal on one. It was about $2500 more than I planned to spend, but like you, I trust Kubota and having never owned a ZT before, at least I have one of the top Prosumer models. Plus paying for at...

    Passing Along The Price Hike?

And this here is the bottom line, folks. Everyone should spend or save based on their risk profile. I chose to pay cash for my RV (to a very unhappy dealer) and finance my tractor (to an indifferent dealer). I have no incentive to pay off my house and it's because of the fact mentioned...

    Price check for L2501HST

I feel that frame size will be much more limiting with the standard L-series than power will ever be. That said, I wish I had sprung for the L3301 vs the L2501, only for the cleaner exhaust that gets routed towards the operator.

    Passing Along The Price Hike?

I won't be surprised if tractor dealers are soon crying foul, as those of us new "hobby farmers" already have our machines, and demand dries up as inflation erodes the dollars' buying power. News articles filled with folks who fled to the country two years ago suddenly going back home to town...

    Gooseneck vs Bumper Pull

My wood looks terrible after only two years outside. I did think about the CDL aspect, will need to check into that more. The truck + trailer capacity is well over 26,001. Will measure between fenders and get an image.

    Gooseneck vs Bumper Pull

I've got a 20' equipment trailer (14k rated) - with the fenders. It's a pretty stout model made by a local company that I bought to carry my tractors and old trucks on. Recently came across a situation that I needed to carry a larger tractor than could fit between the fenders (74" between...
