    BX25D PTO Oil Pressure low!!!?

When you first got the tractor and changed the hydraulic fluid, what did the old fluid look like? Any signs of water contamination? If so, you need to find out how water was getting into the system and give it a good flushing to get as much of the old crud out as possible.

Tilt cilinder repair - OUCH - Maybe not...

 I never could wrap my head around the apple interface. If it is so 'user friendly', why does it make me want to throw the damn thing at the wall. :)

M5400DT HYDRAULIC PROBLEMS following fluid and filter change

Interesting, thanks. Now that it is working, I would be curious what the pressure is.

    What torque wrench needed.

Here I thought that being retired meant I needed more tool boxes :)

    BX25D PTO Oil Pressure low!!!?

Don't know about Jamaica, but a pipe nipple can be found in most hardware stores; like home depot, you don't need an 8" one, but you get the idea. Then you will need a coupler to go from 1/8" to whatever size your pressure gauge is.

    Chain saw chain sharpeners

It took me a while to find it again, but here is a booklet from Stihl. What they call the "4-2-1 principle" is why I choose to swap chains at mid day instead of sharpening. Besides, it gives me a chance to clean around the sprocket, make sure the oil hole is clear and turn the bar over. But it...

    Vacuum Sealer Recommendations?

We stopped with vacuum sealers several years ago. It used to be that the bags could be reused two or three times. Now you are lucky if they can be reused once. We have gone old school... cling wrap and butchers paper. We have dug 3 year old venison out of the bottom of the freezer that did not...

    Canning jars and lids

Paraffin wax works as well. I have eaten lots of paraffin opening a new jar of jam :). However, it is not useful for things that require pressure canning.

    Repair manual for B3350

Now there's a "must have" for when I build the shop! Just have to convince the treasurer. :)

    Canning jars and lids

I got back into canning about five year ago. My wife thought it was a great idea until she saw the price of jars and lids. She started watching for them at garage sales and now we have lots. :)

B2920/B2620/B2320 Seat mount cracked, and that lovely fuel filter location.

If you take it off, is it weldable from the other side? Or is it a tube? Hard to tell from the picture.

Can't read hydraulic oil dip stick level - use dye?

I do something similar using the shop paper towel. Take the dipstick and place the tip on the towel and then lay the dipstick on the towel. Look for where the oil is absorbed by the towel to get your level.

M6800 hydraulic & shuttle shifter issues

I left the diesel that I flushed with to sit for a few days, then I siphoned the clear diesel off. This crud is what I was left with! I'm not sure what it is, but it goes through a 10micron filter like it wasn't there. I will have to see what comes out when I change out the cheap hydraulic...

    Racor filter, fuel line routing?

Personally, I would put the new filter on the same side of the pump that the stock filter is on. Some pumps do not do well if you restrict the flow somewhere it is not expecting.

New Grease Gun On The Way.

When I was a kid, we used to refill the grease guns from a pail of grease. Take top off grease gun, insert cylinder an inch or two into grease, pull handle and suck grease into cylinder, clean up mess, put top back on grease gun and you're good to go. I would have loved having a setup like...

M6800 hydraulic & shuttle shifter issues

So I started by flushing with diesel, it took about 18l to get the level above the return line. And it took 8 flushes to get mostly clear diesel draining out again. I left the FEL off for the diesel flushes, but I did remove hoses and open drain plugs to get as much of the old fluid out as...

    L3430HST

Recently an L3430HST has popped up on my radar, so I'm looking for opinions and advice. First, I know nothing of HST. What would I be getting myself into in terms of operation, maintenance and repairs? Second, emissions controls. Things have changed since the last time I had anything to do...

Call before you dig! Every time you dig!

From what I have seen, it is just a wire buried along with the utility line. Some detectors can find the wire without any additional help, some require a toner. For giggles, I hitched up my old telephone wire toner to the gas line tracer and was able to detect it. It is about 18" deep. The wire...
