M6800 hydraulic & shuttle shifter issues

Update: we finally got some -30C weather (never thought I would be happy to have a week of -30 temperatures in the forecast :) ) so I could test the hydraulics in the cold. I plugged the tractor in last night and put the battery tender on it. This morning it was -34C at 7:30. I went out and...

Hydraulic fluid out of transmission vent

If it is water, you will want to find out how the water is getting in. If it is an open station, check the boot around the shift lever for tears.

I'm looking out the back window watching a young mule deer right now.

    L295DT Engine Block Heater

On another forum, I saw reference to Kat's Heaters. Don't know anything about them, but they seemed to have lots of options for sizes (both wattage and diameter of frost plug).

diagram of fuel line hookups at bottom of fuel tank on a L3350

This should help with what goes where, not so much with the size.

    L3540 vs MX6000

My initial thought was I wasn't sure how far I would trust a dealership that would make that sort of error. Your comments seem to imply that it happens with some frequency. Does this happen often?

    voltage regulator

This is walmart's equivalent of the amazon marketplace. This item isn't sold by walmart, but by a seller going by the name Rareelectrical. According to walmart "Walmart requires sellers to use minimum standards for item returns, but each seller has their own policy." In this case, the item can...

    B2620 leaking head Gasket?

No laughing here. Glad it was an easy "fix". As they say, "I used to be young and stupid, I'm not so young anymore."

B1700 - new 30A fuse blew immediately on start

That solenoid has a 5 amp fuse in front of it. That fact that the 5 amp fuse is not blowing means that the solenoid can not be the sole reason the 30 amp fuse is blowing. More like the sum of the draw of the glow plugs and solenoid is exceeding 30 amps. I would bet if you left the 0.6 Ohm glow...

Got to take my roof off.... again

Currently -9C (16F), supposed to warm up to -5C. And I'm supposed to be clearing bush and pounding fence posts. Heated shop... I wish. I think my tractor is pampered because I keep it in a ShelterLogic garage-in-a-box.

    Fuel leaking into the crankcase

I find that the online parts catalogue is a good place to find where things are. The exploded views can help. I know nothing about your equipment, but I would start with the air filter and trace back to where it attaches to the carb.

    Thinking about tire chains

With winter coming, I'm planning to get chains for my M6800. With a DT/FWA/4WD/what ever you want to call it, can/should you put chains on the front?

    BX25D PTO Oil Pressure low!!!?

Heck of a good question, I find the WSM less than helpful. The parts catalogue is a little more helpful, but still doesn't identify if this is for the PTO clutch or not. I think parts 100, 110,80 and 90 constitute the relief valve.

    BX25D PTO Oil Pressure low!!!?

I can't see a damaged clutch pack causing low pressure, more the other way around. It is possible that your relief valve is partially blocked by the same stuff that was fouling your clutch valve. Or your relief valve could need replacing. It is also possible that your hydraulic fluid is...

    Should I Change all fluids?

What does your manual say? Mine says the fluid should be changed every 600 hours (and the filters every 300 hours, which I find curious). I would change. You will have a chance to assess the condition of the fluid and decide if you need to flush the hydraulic system or not.

I find the online parts catalogues are very helpful in locating things.

    BX25D PTO Oil Pressure low!!!?

Did you clean all the oil passage holes? I could see that little one close to the o-ring being easy to miss.

Spring came off...now my T1880 will not go forward or backward...

Looking at the parts diagram, I would be following the lever back to the pivot point, and then locate the bolt labeled 070. That should put you close to where the spring attaches.

I seem to have Frankenstein's tractor

My battle with the hydraulics on my M6800 continue... Going through the parts catalogue I find that there is an old and new style of the transmission case and rear cover. The most obvious difference between the two is the location of the dip stick. The old style has the dip stick at the front...
