Rear wheel spacing and making things difficult for myself ... again!

I swapped the wheels around on my m7060, (take centers out of rims to flip sides and widen), also had wheel weights installed (175# each?) There was 2 of us and we needed another tractor (loader). It wasn’t hard, nor dangerous, just have to plan ahead like any heavy work. It took two of us and...

    This Weather Event

We are up for 12-30” of snow here next few days! Gotta love spring!

    8 or 12 speed on the M7060

As to the 8vs 12, check the hydraulic flow specs, I think the 12 has a higher flow, for what it may matter. And does the 8 have the ePTO option? Nice for light work when not all the bonus needed saving fuel

    A friend's neighbor is selling an M7060 ....

The 7060 with the 12sp should also have higher hyd flow. Wide tires are standard up here it seems, they are great. I have a different loader but have the soft ride in it and it’s nice on rough ground with any weight up front. If it includes the blade and blower, id think thats a great deal...

What grease are you all using?

I had to look for curiosity…. Loader (Quicke/ALO) says ‘universal grease’. ALO builds loaders for some OEM’s…. Can’t imagine cylinder/pins are different from one to the other for these light duty applications (CUT’s and mid sized ag tractors) Tractor says NGLI-2 or -1 (gc-lb) My local...

    Four Down Four To Go

Funny how things can be so different not even that far away! Just a few hundred miles north of ya in NW Ontario we’ve got what seems like a record amount of snow this winter! (Likely just ‘normal’ or an ‘old fashioned winter). Just starting to melt and settle down but we have spots on level non...

    Seeking Kubota M7060 attachments

Just keep in mind you have a good tractor with lots of pulling power and weight behind it! Cat 1 implements might not take the abuse. I have a 5’ rake that now looks like a pretzel, didn’t feel it catch anything at the time! (Cheap import brand).

    M7060 pops out of gear

I second checking the linkages. You can find a free WSM online, there are the measurements and how to set up the linkages. It can be a bit of a finaky thing to do. One linkage may just need to be made a 1/2 turn longer. Hopefully that’s all it is! I recently replaced the rubber boot down...

    MX 6000 50 hour service

Sorry can’t speak to that machine but…. Best to get a big, cheap Rubbermaid type tub to catch it in, mind you it’s only a little messy putting the plug back in mid flow if you’re quick and lucky…. Plan a way to slide the full tub out, steadily….(big piece of cardboard underneath to slide it on?)...

using 50 hour udt for chainsaw bar oil?

I use my old UDT in my chainsaw bar oiler. It’s in fact on a firewood processor. I do upwards of 100 cords a year. Over time, I have not noticed any different bar wear from using good chain oil to using used oil. I draw the line at old motor oil as it stinks and is messier than the UDT. An...

OK to let bucket slam down to clear stuck snow in bucket?

I shake it. Any more than 3 times is playing with it though! I also leave the bucket outside the garage. I back in, and unlatch it outside the door, it blocks the door so would be the thieves have another obstacle to getting stuff out. Sloshing some diesel fuel in the bucket will help with...

    Tractor loses power

^ good advice. This is what a dealer recommended me to check a while ago….. I found dirt in fuel tank (a piece of foil from the power service bottle cap!) blocking the suction line… occasionally…..

    M5 tires,

Looking forward to hearing your experience with these tires when you get them! I’d love to have a set, I priced them a few years ago for about $7g cdn…. No trade in on used R1’s. i have 420/85r30 rear and 360/70r20’s on front so a bit different than yours in RC, I’d think you’ll be fine!

SSQA snow plow worth the trouble?

I’ve been watching for reasonably priced used blades. I’m not sure a pusher is ideal for my situation, so I’d say depending on your needs, go for it!! I’ve been toying with a silly idea of adapting a 3pt rear blade to the loader….. make an adapter plate, and use trip springs as the top link...

    High time? 2010 M100X with 6200 hrs

What a new loader worth? When I purchased a used tractor the dealer put a new loader on it. (Quicke x series) in Canuck dollars I estimated it to be $5000 dealer cost. There are used loaders around too if one waits and travels a bit. ?

    GPS for spraying

That looks very cool. Far more advanced and cheaper than some stuff we use in airplanes for surveying! (Mind you we aren’t looking for 20cm accuracy in those specific applications!)

    SNOW MOVING

Practice makes perfect…. I have learned where to set the bucket using the level indicator rod to keep the cutting edge an inch or so ‘up’. On bare ground at least this will also help pack a base too. When really worried about digging in, adjust it ‘up’ a bit more on the fly. So what if you...

down pressure on a rear blade, add weights the only solution?

I’m just thinking aloud so forgive me! if a guy did have down pressure on a 3pt hitch, I can foresee a lot of carnage from the rear of tractors trying to be lifted off the ground by the ‘locked down’ implement ( rather than floating) and the subsequent high pressures in the cylinders, bending...

    Woodmizer project. Picture heavy

As for lube, Guys around here are running washer fluid with some sort of detergent added, or plumbing antifreeze, neighbour uses the antifreeze and adds Pine-sol soap. If the logs have been moved around a bit, cut the butt end off even just an inch, so the blade don’t cut into all the grime...

    Woodmizer project. Picture heavy

Nice project! Milling is fun, that’s a great looking little mill! You’ll have it it too too in no time! What I’ve learnt is…Almost Any time the mill is acting up, it’s the blade! Just sharpened don’t matter. The set could be off. Could have been a crappy sharpen. Could have hit dirt at the...
