    M7960 Hydraulic top link length?

I have been thinking about getting/building a top link for my 7060...... Retracted about 20” (Ctr to ctr of pins), extended about 29-30” The end on the tractor is a Cat 1 end, that is slightly narrower than ‘normal’ (i had to grind A cheapo top link a bit to make it fit on the tractor) A 2 1/2”...

    Best cold weather bib overalls?

Any snowmobile gear should be good. I’m a Skidoo guy, I agree with Tughill Tom, the stuff with Gortex will be good whatever the brand. Klim is likely the best. Skidoo brand stuff is my go to, FXR is also good.

    Close call today

Bmyers, I’m glad your experience didn’t turn out badly. I had the exact same thing happen yesterday as well. At 2:45 in the afternoon, no where near any shift change time, rush hour, etc.... in a matter of a minute went from 0 cars to a dozen behind me for about 3/4 of a mile. I can do...

    M6060 Buddy Seat

I'm not sure if you 'can' but i don't think it'd be very comfortable for the operator or passenger. Maybe a small child would fit ok but it would be cramped. My only complaint about my M7060 cab is the lack of storage. hardly room for a lunch box anywhere! However if it were bigger, we'd...

    Grapple for M7040

do you have a set of pallet forks? maybe not ideal depending on your intended use, but i have a single arm (you can get a 2 arm) on the pallet fork frame. they remove without a whole lot of hassle but not something you do daily. i also added a 3rd fork tine to make picking up 8' wood easier. I...

    4ft LED replacement bulbs

i have some chinese Amazon LED 4' and 8' lights. I can't recall the brand. remove the ballast and use the tombstone, took all of a few minutes to rewire. The one problem with these lights is they are electrically 'noisy'. forget listening to the am/fm radio in the shop when they are turned...

    IBC container uses?

i've yet to cut/hinge the cage to make unloading them easier but here's a start. the water tank is only 4' off the ground so not much pressure but good enough to fill a watering can/bucket or have patience with a hose.

Can't read hydraulic oil dip stick level - use dye?

i got hyd oil dye from PetroCanada. It's blue. shows up really good on the dip stick, and on snow! It only took a 1/4 of a small (1/2 qt) container to dye the ~15 gallons that are in this machine. one container will last you darn near a lifetime.

Hard time connecting flat face connectors on grapple

you did all you can do. There's no perfect easy way or perfect connector. Temp difference (hotter) will cause fluid to expand. simple physics. i'll push the ends of my connectors with an stick, rock, pliers, whatever's handy to spill some out. (not flat faced mind you) i added a ball valve...

    Kubota "Shockless Ride" accumulator

i have a 'Quicke'/ALO brand loader on my machine. i got the 'soft ride' option. It's a hydraulic accumulator on the lift circuit. operates with an manila shut off valve to isolate it. I took delivery before it arrived and installed it myself after, took all of 5 minutes. It does help...

New Stihl MS 194 CE Chain Saw Not Fitted With Recommended Chain or Bar

I recently bought a Sthil MSA 140. (battery powered). I wanna say it has that tiny picco 3/8 chain in 043. For limbing small stuff and general trail trimming, i find it to be a great little saw. The quietness of it is the beat part, and not waiting for it to warm up to make one or 2...

    Chain saw chain sharpeners

With the saw clamped securely in a vice, a good file and some practice is as fast and almost as good as any jig. it's taken me a while to figure it out but if i can, trust me, you can too. As soon as the file feels like it's not cutting metal, chuck it and get a new one. A guide on the...

    3D printed parts?

i'll second jkwilson about the washer fluid bottle cap. I had a fellow locally print me one, took a few tries to get it just right. He used some sort of flexible 'ninja' plastic. charged me $50. i was happy to pay that than the $200+ for the whole tank. switch mounts, cup holders, light...

    50 Hr service...

Funny i posted this over on another forum then see this thread.... So i bought my machine used with 260h, unseen. asked the selling dealership to make it current on all maintenance which they did or said they did. I had a copy of the manuals before so knew what was due. I didn't ask for...

My take on Chain saw, Tool Box and whatever holder

that's a great idea! i removed the right side step and made a platform to hold a box but this is a great idea and i'm gonna try to copy ya :) won't get so much mud on my saw or dump it out and drive over it :)

Tractor Chipper vs Stand Alone Unit?

after watching friends use smaller stand alone units, i got a tractor mounted chipper. I thought about size, but with 60hp at the PTO, i went with an 8". i rarely put anything that big in, but bent pieces, lots of limbs, crooked y's and all the sorts don't have to be trimmed down. I got a...

    M7060 hydraulic top link

I believe you are correct. i mangled my OEM top link (trying to adjust it too far, got a pipe wrench to 'show it'... oops) The new cat 2 link needs a bushing in it on the tractor side. if i could weld good enough or had a shop nearby that wasn't weeks behind, i'd get them to weld a cat 1 end...

    What do these do?

A lot of Canadian tractors have Quicke/ALO brand loaders on them... some funny import/trade law i think. I believe that M920 is a quicke/alo 900 Q series. You can find the manual and parts diagrams here, painstakingly...

    What do these do?

I have that same valve on the ALO loader on my machine...... not sure exactly either but whenever i disconnect the loader, i close it. I suppose unhooking the lines could cause some pressure loss? The valve holds it in, (that one circuit at least) so the loader won't settle when disconnecting?

Insurance in Canada for Kubota Tractor

i'm in Ontario, i understand every province may be different...... I'm at about 460/yr for the tractor, for replacement value (fire theft etc) It had to be combined with a commercial business policy however. I did (well, best to cya) need the commercial portion because i use it for deliveries...
