    Edge Tamers vs .....

Somewhere on the inter web, someone took a piece of pipe, cut a slot in it and put it over the bucket cutting edge. I can recall if they bolted it on, friction fitted or welded it. But I could see that making a decent skid shoe type effect so the bucket won’t dig in

    Adding Hydraulic Deflection on Snowblower

Very nice! You’ll enjoy not having to use your wipers as much with a deflector :) I made one but it’s almost embarrassing compared to yours!

    Keeping garage walls clean...HELP

Spiders eh?! Some places here have a thingy on the wall that sprays a fly killer once every so often (Konk?) I wonder if there’s one to kill spiders? I’m about to put steel up inside my shop rather than drywall. (One I can afford the 2x4 to strap it) Hoping it will be easier to keep clean and...

    B2650 cold climate engine oil - Rotella T6-5w40 or Semi-synth 10W-30?

I’m not far from ya nbryan, I’ve struggled with this question too. But I run T6 5w40. I feel that 10w will be too stiff at -25c/-30c if I can’t get plugged in. I run T6 5w40 in my VW Tdi (emissions deleted) my Honda atv (T6 has moly for wet clutch) and I run it in my Tacoma in the summer...

Power Service Diesel Conditioner Mix Ratio

I’ve added a ‘glug, glug, glug” right from the can into the tank when I refuel. Maybe one glug if it’s a 1/2 tank. The VW tdi, snow groomers, or current tractor have suffered any ill effects. Except that time I didn’t put any in and the fuel station obviously hadn’t got winter fuel yet....

    PTO - Air ride seat?

Have you tried your scenario yet? The M stays running as long as it’s in neutral/ parking brake on. The buzzer on the other hand..... sounds at every bump or when you turn around to look back and lift up just a tad. Luckily the seat switch is very simple and easy to defeat in a number of ways...

Older PTO's with quick pins sets

On the old beater mower we have, with square driveshaft, the solid square shaft end goes on the tractor. The clutch, errrr, what was the old clutch was on the gearbox. Make sure you have a shear pin or a clutch and that the clutch is not seized. Parts for old mowers are not cheap as ive...

    Headlights staying on

Too bad, that’s a dirty trick thinking you shut the lights off and come back to a dead battery...... I know it’s not solving the problem, but I’ve thought about installing a battery disconnect switch. And, taking the headlight circuit off the hot battery circuit and putting them on an ignition...

Mowing the shoulders of my gravel runway.

That is a sharp looking 170B!!! if you get one of these, you won’t need to mow anymore :)

Got to take my roof off.... again

Could you snap a pic with the roof off if you have a chance? I’m curious to see what’s up there :) I dunno if my 7060 would be the same, I know some of the climate stuff is under the seat. But i got a smell from the AC that ain’t me and I dread tearing it apart to clean it.

    M5660 Third Function question

I have the smallest Splitfire, 2260 I believe? Anyways, it has a tiny honda on it, and it’ll split most stuff I’ve tried (mind u we have crappy wood here.. pine, spruce and birch for hardwood). But it’s fast At 4 seconds per direction. I could see the 3ph model being waaay slower.

    M5660 Third Function question

Exactly. The way mine is it’s an electric button on the joystick to activate the diverter then use the curl to operate the grapple. Feathering the grapple is easy, as is letting go of the button to curl a little then pushing the button to adjust the grapple. There’s a 4th function button to...

    M5660 Third Function question

I’ll admit, I’m a bit on the ‘slow’ side, I was disappointed when I learned I couldn’t use my grapple and bucket curl together (aftermarket loader...Quicke/ALO brand) but to be honest it has never mattered in operation. I’m usually only smart and quick enough to make one movement at a time :)

    Cab in Canada

There’s a show on CBC television called ‘Land and Sea’. (Available online) A kid in Nfld built his own cab for his tractor (a Kioti I believe) At any rate it was an inspiring show and could give you some ideas! I believe the shows title was ‘A boy and his tractor’

    Thinking about tire chains

Rather than chains, ever look into screw in Studs? I’m thinking about these..... https://www.gripstuds.com/1911_Tire_Stud.php I’d think depending on your situation, steering becomes a problem with lots of rear traction, no sense going somewhere if it ain’t where you want to go!

    M7060 stuck in high range

Here’s a pic of the linkage area.... the vertical rod right behind the Hyd hose is the range selector. Maybe try disconnecting from the lever and seeing if you can turn the input without the rest of the linkage hooked up?

    M7060 stuck in high range

I sprayed the underside of the hood, underside of the cab, all the shift linkages, inside the rear fenders where there’s metal, around the battery/rad support area and anywhere else that will rust or moving parts that will seize. I’ll reapply to the obvious parts once through the winter, even...

    M7060 stuck in high range

Having plowed snow with mine a bit...... what we’re they using to plow with? I’m in and out of high/low all the time. I can’t imagine plowing all the tome in 1 or 2 high unless they are all easy, paved driveways, not without lots of clutch riding anyway! I once had a stock flip up into the...
