    Spring cleaning

I’m a certified tractorwhore. All my implements are Kubota Orange, even the home made ones. I’ll paint them and add Kubota stickers, so it all matches. Hahaha

    Adding Hydraulic Deflection on Snowblower

Nice setup, and well done. Guess I’m just a dinosaur. I angle my chute for maximum distance, to get it all as far away from the roads and trails as possible. I’m good with that.

    Spring cleaning

With the ( almost) coming of spring, off went the Front snow blower and rear blade, back to the Grapple to start cutting wood, in the cool weather. Already took the land plane out and graded off the roads to the main paved connector road. Time for what I call spring cleaning. Get the...

How good would a grapple work picking up cut and split firewood logs?

It’s been said already, but.... I have logs stacked up in the log yard, 150’ from my wood shed. I put a saw buck right in front of the wood shed, pick up a log, run over to the shed, place it on the saw buck, and cut. You don’t have to go anywhere to move rounds. I keep one side with rounds...

    New decking on my trailer

That would have been the best time to repaint the trailer, with the wood off.

Bx2380 and tractor supply post hole digger

I was just looking at the PHD as it sits. I could make a piece of extension pipe with flanges and make the Auger go another foot deeper. Might be a new project

    New Dump Trailer!

A good dump trailer is something you don’t use every day, but any day you use it, will bring a smile to your face. It’s one of those things your glad you have, when you need it.

Can I use 1 year old diesel?

Probably all used up, but you could always mix it 50/50 with fresh, then add a bunch of C-tane boost

Generator Transfer Switch Setup, Better Late Than Never.

I thought I would use the manual set up more. But although we have probably 5 outages a year, only one was for multiple days, and it really didn’t cost that much in fuel. I’ve manually switched it off and plugged in the Honda, made a dedicated cord, then have not used it since. The best...

Generator Transfer Switch Setup, Better Late Than Never.

I’m running on Genny power right now. It’s cold and very windy, with many downed power lines all around. This is one of the first things we had installed as we were moving to the ranch full time. It’s hooked to a huge propane tank, so never and gas or diesel to wirry about. Just top off the...

Bx2380 and tractor supply post hole digger

I got the factory PHD when I bought my BX25D as I had lots of fence work to accomplish. I got the 9” auger (around) but it is only 30” deep. It would handle a 36” at least, but I’ve done lots of fences, 6x6 posts, and planted hundreds of trees with it. Pay attention! It could get away from you!

    Mr. Heaters - Big Buddy

Don’t know if you have enough room, but I put a small pellet stove in the little back room in the shop (24x12) than a man door into a 36x24. It really keeps things dry, puts out tons of very inexpensive heat. I can do the back room, or open the door and put a box fan in the doorway, into the...

Show us your Shop and Equipment

[There’s pics of my shop, lift, etc going back a few years. A couple months ago I added a 48’x16’ lean to off one side. Yes, it’s now full of Kubota implements, the SxS, ladders, lots of large bulky stuff I want to keep out of the weather, under cover but doesn’t have to be inside.

    Mr. Heaters - Big Buddy

I have the mr buddy heater, and it is nice within 10’ of it, but it made my tools wet. It puts a lot of moisture in the air. It would be great under a table you guys are sitting around outside. I turn my shop ceiling fans on low, and fire up a 80K btu torpedo in the 48’x24’ center section...

    Build Land Plane

One more thing, when I fabbed up the blades(4” AR steel flat stoc) , I backed them by adding some 2” 3/16 flat stock to make the blades into T configuration so there is no deflection . I only stitch welded them about one inch every six inches or so.

    Build Land Plane

Depending on the size of your tractor, you may not want to make a huge land plane if you have a BX. You don’t want to lower it and have it stop your tractor. I made mine (blades) 60” wide, and the two AR Steel blades are 5/8” below the side rails. I measured the angle of 15 degrees L to R on the...

    LED light bar install

I’m glad I have one on my ROPS but it just makes me work longer on the tractor. Very handy though

Get Ready To Get Stimulated !!!

As politics goes, I always vote for ORANGE Tractors, no matter which side of the fence they plow on. Although I do prefer Grapples and Backhoes.
