    Let it snow!

I may be screwed, I still have my FEL on. I just finished the carport off the front of the little shop. I went to scrape up the extra dirt, and move it to add a few inches of gravel, and the two small dirt piles have turned to concrete! I was in 4x low, and the piranha tooth blade sounded like...

installing a block heater on a BX25D for winter

yes its a Kubota part, and it was $80.00. when I called the parts dept they quoted me $45, but that was for a small thread in one, not this one. It is a heavy duty unit. I plugged it in this morning for 1/2 an hour before starting the tractor. It was 18 degrees outside when I put my hand on the...

installing a block heater on a BX25D for winter

you always speak of how easy this stuff is to do, and you are right,it was. I can cut a car in half and section in another half, but I hate going under the hood!

installing a block heater on a BX25D for winter

popped out the plug with a slide hammer. tapped in the heater element with a socket and extension. ty wrapped the wires from moving, plug sticks out below the shroud for easy access. I was a little paranoid about messing with a new tractor (only 28 hours so far) but its easy to get to and...

fuel additives or more needed for winter

I picked up a bottle of anti gel, Ctane booster and added it to my tank and gas gas. Also picked up the block heater from the Kubota dealer and installed it in about 20 minutes. It takes longer to take the cover off and drain some antifreeze off, than the install. Just drilled a 1/8" hole and...

fuel additives or more needed for winter

what a difference 25 miles can make. there was barely any noticeable frost on the ground this morning, and we spent a few hours digging and putting poles in the ground for a carport and pump house cover. I'm actually outside in a tee shirt. ( nice while working) its about 40 here. I called...

fuel additives or more needed for winter

ok, I pulled the engine cover, and my BX does NOT have a threaded fitting area to install the block heater. Ill go by the K dealer and see what they say, and take a look at the part if they have one in stock. so much for an easy install.

fuel additives or more needed for winter

Looks like they make a thread in block heater for the little BX. N.I.Wolfman in a previous post you talked about possibly getting a trans heater. Do you use that also? I have the BX inside my shop, so its out of the wind, but its not insulated. It wouldn't be a problem to plug it in an hour or...

fuel additives or more needed for winter

I use a winter diesel additive for parking the BX between plowings, but it will be in an uninsulated metal building, so it will be below freezing for extended periods of time. How hard is cold starting after sitting a week or two in freezing weather? should I put a little buddy heater under the...

What have you made for you tractor

That gives me some good ideas. I can use some angle iron and make a front piece and continue it angled back across the hood. a few bolts and it can be easy to remove. looks like another project lined up for this winter. Thanks

    Piranha Toothbar

It would appear that they made the Piranha with those reliefs, so an add on or bolt on attachments would fit easily without having to remove the tooth bar. If its not intentionally made that way, they just happened to do it just right! I know the Piranha is absolutely awesome in digging and...

    Piranha Toothbar

Ill take a pic this afternoon. I need to load my porch with wood for the stove, and my wood shed/ splitting cover is 100 feet away. Much better than hauling 4 or 5 pieces by hand, back and forth. I hook a pallet to the FEL forks and move a few hundred pounds at a time. its getting cold, so I...

    Piranha Toothbar

haha, Its a name we have always used for anti seize either silver death or copper death, aluminum or copper. I use it on everything outdoors, tractors trucks, equipment, mowers. it keeps bolts from ever sticking or dis similar metals from corroding or galling the threads. If you get it on your...

What have you made for you tractor

I like that idea too. I just spent an hour with a heat gun, reshaping the plastic grill that got mangled pushing brush. did you just tack weld it across the rear of the guard? got a few pics?

    Piranha Toothbar

I have a BX and take it off when I use the bolt on forks, but once the holes are drilled, and you use copper death on the bolts its a two minute change out. NO big deal at all.
