    Bent Top Link B2650

Thank you for the replies. I had been very frustrated in trying to screw the end out, so that I could straighten in a press or vice. It seemed like it should come apart. I guess the purpose of the post is to let people know just why you can't take the "link" apart, unlike an "L" link. If you can...

    Bent Top Link B2650

Do you have a bent top link on a B series. Thinking about taking it apart to repair it? it is not going to come apart easily. It seems that the small screw hole in the tube is used to mar the thread, after which the screw is installed (probably to prevent debris from getting in) I bent the top...

    Bent Top Link

Mystery solved........................it is not going to come apart easily. I removed the small screw (you can see it in the picture) to open the access hole and then cleaned the grease out. (There is a threaded hole on one side of the tube only). When I had cleaned out enough grease I could...

    Bent Top Link

Happy Thanksgiving Geohorn, and everyone else that replied . I thought about the access hole being used during assembly to insert the pin, but it would seem that as you screw the end out, the pin would be able to come out of the same hole it went in. I must admit that I like the challenge of...

    Bent Top Link

I did a little more research on this. The L2501 parts list shows the Top Link with the springs and pin, and the ends have separate part numbers for the right and left thread. It also has the same screws in access holes. If there is a pin, I couldn't see it as I screwed the end in and out. I...

    Bent Top Link

In the woods making a new trail. Had the front bucket and a rear blade attached. Backing up, sudden stop.............didn't think too much about it until I was was taking off the rear blade, and there it was, a bent top link. My question is the threaded ends. You would think that they would...

    Serial Number ID

This question comes up a lot. Kubota serial numbers are sequential, there is no "code" involved. You can e-mail Kubota customer service. They have given me the manufacture date and the name of the original selling dealer when I inquired. Ask a cooperative Kubota dealer dealer to get the...

Engine shuts down or goes to rough slow idle

This is based on good advice I received, and the benefit of experience. It is for reference to help others in the future. Your tractor is running fine when the engine suddenly powers down and turns off, or goes to a very rough slow idle. If it sits there at slow idle, it may start to regain...

    decoding the VIN

Good job GeoHorn! I am sure that Bill8200 will be glad to have the info ( I'm just assuming that you got the information on his machine). I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised at the cooperation level you received from the dealers. Some dealers are "show me the money" motivated, and do...

    Idles down and shuts off

Thanks "armylifer" "Airborne all the way". I certainly can see how a reversed filter restricting fuel flow might cause the same symptoms. Who would think to look for that when having an issue, this is, until now. I would like to tie this chain of posts to "engine shuts down or goes to a rough...

    decoding the VIN

I went through this exercise some time ago for the same reason as you. I wanted to confirm a tractor's age. I found out that you cannot decode Kubota ID (serial) numbers to give the tractor's manufacture date. The serial numbers are sequential. Tractors are usually dated by date of original...

    Idles down and shuts off

PROBLEM SOLVED! I would never have figured the fuel tank cap to be the problem. I usually would think of things like clogged fuel filter, failed fuel pump, fuel line blockage. But .................................... I went out after the tractor had fully cooled down and it started up...

    Idles down and shuts off

Thank you for your replies! My father, a WW II vet had an expression he used when he was surprised at something that solved a problem. He would say ............................. "well I'll be go to hell. Per suggestion, I inspected the cap. There appeared to be a very small piece of debris...

    Idles down and shuts off

Thank you for your reply. I did check the fuel cap. It did not look clogged, but I gave it a good vacuuming anyway. I would say that the RPM just suddenly drops off. It is pushing out a lot of smoke when it starts. I will work through your suggestions. Thank you!

    Idles down and shuts off

Thanks Dave, It did occur to me to look for a pulled off wire, but I thought that I would charge up the battery and go from there. I was not even aware of Kubota "limp home mode". It is certainly true that you can learn something new every day!

    Idles down and shuts off

My B2650 was running fine, when it idled down (or loaded up with diesel) and shut off. I was able to get it started in lowest idle position this AM. Drive it out of the woods, but along the way, it continued doing the same thing, except that it didn't quite shut off, and if I left it alone in...

    New here Forks question

Here is a summary. 1) Palletforks Inc. (AKA Titan) is a different company than Titan Attachments. Titan Attachments are USA made and not cheap. 2) Palletforks Inc. forks can be purchased on Amazon. The model number I bought has no width between forks adjustment. The capacity is listed at 2800...

    MY 1st Tractor Question

Hi Tom, I did some of my training at "Smoke Bomb Hill", before going OCS (not Officers Candidate School, my OCS was "over choppy seas". I was in from 1968 to 1975. Last three years were reserve time. Great job, did nothing, the 90 day wonders were scared shitless of me! Thank you for your service!
