Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

Maybe that's what I should have done. It all went to crap when I started trying to understand it. I'll admit that my backhoe lines threw me a little. NOW I get that they are just a long version of what would have been a short hose between two points. I just missed that piece at first...

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

It makes me feel a bit better that others see it as a little wonky. For the record, if the backhoe is installed then the directions have the 3rd function valve installed between the "P" connections on the block and the FEL (the orange connections above). If it is NOT installed then it is as...

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

I located this which helps identify what's what. From this I labeled what's what on my diagram. If I follow the directions as I understand them this is what I will end up with.

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

Let's get to the root of my confusion. I don't know where its PB port is. Nothing is labeled. If I follow the directions above that green line will absolutely not go to the hydraulic block, it will go to the tank (T) port on my 3rd function valve. Yeah I know all the holes have to be...

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

Ok I think I got it. After I remove the two lines going to the loader, both ports marked in green will be unused. I had assumed that when the two backhoe hoses were removed something like a short hose was needed to replace them and THEN I did something with the 3rd function valve. I see now...

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

Yes that image is in the instructions I got with the kit. It shows what to do if I do or do not have rear hydraulics but not what to do when I pull those hoses out. I do plan to remove them.

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

I'm not sure I understand your question. I'm currently in the process of installing the kit and it's never been connected. As far as I can tell no part of the Summit instructions tell me how the two lines going to the back correspond to this diagram. Once they're removed I have an open port...

Can I get someone to sanity check my understanding of hydraulic connections?

I'm installing a 3rd function kit on my L2501. It all seemed pretty obvious until I started to connect the PB. I have recently removed a backhoe so I wish to remove those lines going to the back and I'm not sure what should connect where in the PB loop. Here's what I currently have...

Question for those who have installed a 3rd function on loader

Not a bad idea. The kit included color coded dust caps. I just haven't installed them yet.

Question for those who have installed a 3rd function on loader

I'll take a look at that but I get the feeling I might just run into something else. Mechanically the kit fell into place perfectly. I hat to start adjusting that much.

Question for those who have installed a 3rd function on loader

Here are a few pics. Let me know what I did that's going to bite me later :D Oh and this cabling bothers me too. It seems pretty vulnerable to damage.

Question for those who have installed a 3rd function on loader

Oh one more thing, why did they make these cables so dang long? I seriously considered cutting and splicing just to get rid of the bulk but in the end I just coiled and zip tied. Not very pretty but easier. I recognize that they likely make one cable for all or at least many tractors but that...

Question for those who have installed a 3rd function on loader

Ok I think I"ve figured out 1 & 2. I didn't get photos of how I routed the hoses but I will later. I found that the ignition key switch comes out very easily and the back just has screw terminals. That's a short run and easy to tie into with a second ring connector on the correct terminal...

Question for those who have installed a 3rd function on loader

Got it and thanks. I just need to be figure out where to find one of those. I'm not worried about it, just always curious what others figured out. And thanks for the offer to ship one of those but I've found a couple possible solutions locally that look promising. I'll sure let you know if...

Question for those who have installed a 3rd function on loader

So do I understand correctly that you wired straight to the battery but added an inline switch? That seems pretty reasonable. I'll go out in the morning and look for a good place to mount a switch.

Oh great, thank you! It sure looks more finished than zip ties.

Very nice! Care to make me one of these? ;)

Question for those who have installed a 3rd function on loader

I'm installing a 3rd function valve from Summit. So far I haven't run into any real issues but I do have a few questions you all might help me with. I've searched but can't seem to find exactly what I'm after. 1. How did you rout the hoses from the valve down the loader arm to the crossbar...

Loading and hauling a BH77 Backhoe (without the tractor)

Thanks everyone. I told him very clearly before he came here that I would put it on the trailer but he was responsible for making sure it was safe to tow. The good news is that he came and got it and made it home just fine. I have my money back for the backhoe and he has a new toy :-)

Loading and hauling a BH77 Backhoe (without the tractor)

Thanks everyone. My abundance of caution is why I'm here seeking input. Im not trying to make a YouTube video out of this. 😄 I think I'll plan to drive up and unload it but also have all the straps and such handy in case that becomes sketchy. Shouldn't this be the buyer's problem or is it...
