We've priced ourselves out of business

I think the bigger issue is giving all of that information to the Chinese government, though they probably have it already anyway.

We've priced ourselves out of business

Most guys don't, but some of the younger ones do. Torque wrenches and calibrated tools are all certified top quality stuff at least. Now, if you're asking what tools they use at Boeing to build them to start with, you might be onto something based on recent news... I've started buying more...

    Battery Fires

I had a customer come in a few months ago needing a new house. Milwaukee M18 battery left on a charger caught fire, burned the house down for a total loss. Being a Milwaukee guy myself, I take batteries off the charger as soon as they're charged now. Also updated my insurance policy to make...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Removed the lighting, hard cab, and heater. Drained the coolant, replaced the original upper and lower radiator hoses and installed a threaded plug into the thermostat housing to get her back into the original stock configuration. Of course, I refilled the coolant too. With the cab off, I...

    New bx2380

Having used my L2501 a good bit in the woods on my small property (<2 acres) before going to a BX, if I had that much land to care for, I'd definitely opt for a larger tractor. If your finances allow you to keep the G for mowing and have a larger dedicated tractor without a mower deck, I'd...

    Driveshaft ID help

Good find! That does look just like the BM17330 shaft.

    Driveshaft ID help

It came from a private school selling off some things and the office guy didn't know much of anything. They had a BX2680 and a small Deere there as well, but I have no clue what it's from.

    Driveshaft ID help

This driveshaft (the long one on the left) came with my tractor, and I have no clue what it's for. The one to the right of it is the rear half of the BX2753 mid-PTO kit for reference. The shaft is 59 9/16" overall length and the U-joint is marked with "06031-7", but I couldn't find any other...

    Tesla I Ain’t…

Yup, pretty much sums it up. The motor will only draw 8A, regardless of how much power is available. My concern is that the Chinesium plug had a 5A fuse, so the wiring in that plug might be too small to handle more amperage. Putting a 10A fuse in there might work for a bit, but it might be...

    Downsizing Newb

Coming from the bigger 2501 with filled R4s, I was surprised at how soft the BX was with the loader, cab and backhoe riding on unloaded turfs. I'm curious what happens when I remove everything but the mower deck. Thankfully I'm just mowing normal lawn, so I don't think it'll beat me up too much.

    Downsizing Newb

I ended up with a 60" after watching one of the Messicks videos showing the different mounts between the 54" and 60". While it's bigger than I was planning, I was only looking at the smaller 54" to help with scalping in uneven parts of the yard. The extra articulation in the 60" mounts will...

    Downsizing Newb

Yup, both brackets and the driveshaft are with it, just not pictured.

    Downsizing Newb

I found an essential part to using the tractor as a mower today! Only 45 minutes away, low hours (only a year or so old), well lubed.

Turn the turnbuckle so that it gets longer.

That price for just the wheel? 😲

There is one thing I despise about kubota, part pricing

Just ordered a big chunk of plastic for my new-to-me tractor from my local dealer. While ~$300 is a lot for a 13-lb piece of plastic, I think it was reasonable enough in today's inflation-driven market. Ordered 15 other little odds and ends as well, and thought the same thing. Not cheap, but...

Loader stopped working on one side

If you're not leaking fluid, I'm guessing you damaged the piston/seal or snapped/bent the piston rod inside. Even though I used to rebuild and repair hydraulic cylinders, motors and pumps for a living many moons ago, I'd probably replace the thing. Once the tractor is up and running, I'd take...

    Downsizing Newb

Yeah, I'll sell the cab since I don't need anything else collecting dust. Front and rear wipers, front and rear lights, amber/yellow strobe light on top, heat, etc. It has a switch labeled "Aux" and I have no idea what that's for... I'm good with wiring, so I'll figure it out soon enough...

    Downsizing Newb

Backup beeper has been removed. It was a Peterson 781 alarm, but I can't identify the switch brand. The switch goes to the underside of the treadle. This picture is from below the treadle, looking back towards the rear tire. The switch has a lever/arm that rotates counterclockwise when the...
