    Broken Feed Back Rod

Maybe why it broke, because it was in wrong and pulling at an angle? With the offset in the rod halfway it doesn't seem like it could work right or for long in backwards if it is as you say, cut it and install new like the diagram seems like a good plan. bill

    A BH1976 Thumb on my BH75

The quick change, so far so good but that pin you have to put a bolt in like kubota does as any kind of typical hitch pin will come out in use. I wonder if that has been some of the failures of others with the pin backing out while using and not being noticed. I do a lot of my own welding and...

    A BH1976 Thumb on my BH75

Nice work on the fit and finish. I can make things that work but seldom get to the painting level that looks as good as yours! I was using my thumb last week redoing a small frog pond we have by the driveway. A lot of rocks and to be able to grab those bigger ones is a back saver. I put a...

l185dt mystery ball bearing in engine

Sometimes those kind of things happen. When I was a lot younger I had a honda 350 that I had to tear down to replace a piston. I had all the parts laid out in order on the bench. When I got the parts and was re-assembling I had an extra internal snap ring and nowhere to put it. It took a little...

l185dt mystery ball bearing in engine

Is it possible it came out of a ratchet, breaker bar, or extension? the socket retainer one is about that size. Just a thought as I have had a couple come out at a bad time over the years. Bill

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I haven't got one of those grease guns yet but I have a couple pneumatic ones. The one I use on the tractors got a lock and lube last year definitely worth the money. Bill

    Oil filter wrench

I have a couple of those style from before my kubota. They were the best to get subaru filters off as there is no room for hands or tools there either. Bill

BX23×× <> Has anyone built a Grader Blade?

Before getting my kubota I did everything with my 8N and still use it a lot . Thought about making one for that to grade my long driveway. I never did but wondered about a piece of channel iron as a start. Now you have that thought swirling around in my head again! I did make a wing out of a...

    A BH1976 Thumb on my BH75

I think if I was doing what the OP was doing I would position that new mount at 19 center for this cylinder to save altering the base end. But in my BH77 instance that wasn't an option as the mount was already welded on. The base end is 1.5 wide like the shaft end and the mounting area for the...

Kubota Says No Wheel Ballast With a Backhoe.

When I was making up my order for my L2501 with a BH77, the dealer recommended ballast. I don't know if it was a failure on his part not knowing what the manual says or he believed it didn't matter. I wonder if it is do to the size of the out riggers and lifting that much more weight. If mine...

    A BH1976 Thumb on my BH75

If you use this cylinder it has the fittings clocked to the side. It is almost perfect length and the shaft end fits the thumb perfect too. When i used it to get the thumb up tight I plugged and welded the base end to rebore the hole about a half inch shorter if I remember right. You will want...

    Drilling a LA525 loader frame

Guess you wouldn't approve of my 8N. it has a lot of holes and a lot of dash work to make an electric power steering from a chevy venture fit in there! But it is a great working tractor with it's front mounted hydraulic pump and a tank behind the seat. An original dearborn front plow that is...

Transfer Switch for Generator Power in Outages

NYSEG is installing smart meters in our area, we got ours last week. The hired subcontractor was here while I was outside so I stopped to watch. He had the new one in tilted up and was trying to horse the cover on. I was standing to the side and told him. He didn't believe me but finally took a...

Transfer Switch for Generator Power in Outages

I had the interlock and 30 amp breaker set up too. I now have a full transfer switch with 20kw Generac. I left that interlock in place and the outside inlet box just as a back up to the backup generator. Our Gov here In NY might make LP and issue some day so I might have to get an electric...

Ken, Is that lever on the right an extension for you on the treadle pedal? Is that your own design too? Nice job on that lift too! Bill

    Drilling a LA525 loader frame

This is my axe holder. Something with same or smaller tube could hold cane. Also I drilled for a couple 1/4-20 to hold on the wooden shovel mount I made for a Little Pal square point shovel I use to clean out loader and backhoe buckets. No hydraulic lines were hurt in any of this as they don't...

    Drilling a LA525 loader frame

I drilled and tapped a couple 1/4-20 on each side to mount golf cart mirrors. But for something like a cane I made a mount out of a 5" exhaust clamp that I welded a short piece of metal tubing on the saddle then slid in some pvc about 30" long. Clamping that to the round loader mount I carry...

    Backhoe Owners poll.......

I bought my L2501DT new with a BH77 in early 2021. I have had no remorse yet. I made the kubota manual thumb hydraulic, Bought the Bxpanded quick change for it. Made a bolt on piece to make the thumb longer because of the quick change. Made my own root ripper. Made a 7" wide bucket. Today I was...

    10kW PTO generator

Those are sometimes known as floor locks, at least when I was working and putting them on equipment. Definitely handy if there is any floor sloping towards a drain etc. Bill
