    hp ? ... torque ... hmm

Interesting question! I also thought I remembered reading something online that talked about the 5hp rule applied to ground engaging implements. In my mind there is a big difference between 5 foot of back blade work in heavy soil and aggressive cut compared to pulling a five foot rotary cutter...

    hp ? ... torque ... hmm

Comparing torque and hp ratings at different rpm's convinced me that buying my L2501 was the right choice. Torque is the "twisting " force and by looking at these comparative numbers suggest to me that the 5hp per foot of implement rule should be taken with a grain of salt.

    L2501 seat adjustment?

As far as spinning faster that would mean they use a different ratio gearbox on a 48 inch RC compared to a 60 inch. Which again would surprise me . Both cutters require 540 pto rpm. I can say I pull a 48 inch King Kutter behind my little B7100 Kubota with about 13 pto hp and seldom do I think...

    L2501 seat adjustment?

They do slide forward and back on a track . Guessing about 5 inches of travel. The back is not adjustable for angle which I find to be uncomfortable . For me the back is reclined a bit too far. And to Be fair to Kubota I do tend to sit very upright not only on my tractor but also in my...

Outdoors with the Morgans goes to Kubota

Thanks for the heads up! I have watched and enjoyed many of their Youtube videos and will enjoy seeing them put these two Kubota’s to work.

What About Your Tractor Makes You Swear?

The 3 point position control adjustment knob on my L2501! Really tough to get a good grip on that little knob the way it’s next to the fender. Gloves on? Forget about it! Lol. I think I read a thread about modifying it which I will search for.

    Rain Water Collection ?

This area of Wisconsin is very interesting geology speaking. Its my understanding that at one time the glaciers stopped in this area? I think that is what accounts for some places being table top flat and other nearby areas having moraines. What is your place west of Coloma like as far as...

    Rain Water Collection ?

Here is a good map outlining central sands region from the DNR website. A lot of potato farming in the area. At one time the central sands had many Christmas tree plantations. My land was a former Christmas tree plantation up until the mid 90's. I marked the map with a black circle showing...

    Rain Water Collection ?

My 56 acre parcel is in central Wisconsin , also known as the central sands region. Fun fact for me, a one inch rain that falls on my land is comprised of 1 million 520 thousand gallons of water! And 20 minutes later due to the sandy soil its like it never rained at all!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Starting working on my approximately 5 mile long trail system with my new L2501. I have not purchased a new box blade yet so was dragging a 4 foot XB King Kutter. The L2501 is definitely overkill for the box blade but its getting the job done for now.

    Rain Water Collection ?

I also use a 275 gallon IBC tote. I built a small rain water collection tank for my primitive camping/picnic area that had no source of water. The Tote had a cam lock type outlet and there are many places to buy garden hose adapters. The 8 x 8 metal roof collects about 37 gallons per 1 inch...

    Dangerous Steep Ditch Bush Hog

Planting the ditch with forbs would be a great idea! The only thing I would be concerned about with Crown Vetch is that it is not native to the US, and not sure if its considered invasive at your location. Here is a link from Indiana concerning Crown Vetch and alternatives that are a native...

The clutch control rod is only connected by a heim joint at the clutch pedal. I did this as this is the side I get on from and its well out of the way and I can easily reach down and grab the ball end and depress the clutch. The hydrostatic lever is somewhat convoluted to give me full travel in...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Spent the day moving branches and cut trees to a burn pile. I also played around back dragging with the grapple on some of my rougher trails to smooth them out a bit. My soil is sandy and it went pretty well, but I will be getting more serious with a box blade and front bucket soon. While not...

Good implement for busting up pasture dirt (small tractor)?

I pulled a small disk set at a angle with my B7100, 16 gross HP and lighter than your B8200 , and had no problems at all. To be fair my soil was very sandy and not highly compacted.

    L2501 rear tires filled

Put the new tractor with LP grapple and filled tires to work on my land. I can not imagine doing this work without having the tires filled, and also looking forward to a box blade or other implement giving me even more rear ballast. The photo really does not show the terrain very well. This...

    Trailer Axle U-bolts

GreensvilleJay, Are you referring to the Uboltsdirect link or the truck spring.com link? I was not able to find uboltsdirect recommending to not reuse due to the threads being roll formed but did find this. "You can overtighten a U-Bolt. This action can be as detrimental as not tightening the...

    Trailer Axle U-bolts

When I needed 5 inch ubolts for my tractor seat lift I purchased them from uboltsdirect. Great customer service, they called to make sure I was ordering the correct number of nuts after I placed the order online. They are very specific about torque specs and the proper pattern when installing...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Put 3 1/2 hours on the new L2501 moving trees and getting used to loader/grapple work and my hand controls. Glad to report all systems including my seat lift are a go! :) I was REALLY glad I had the rear tires filled especially considering I do not have a box blade or brush cutter hanging off...

    L2501 rear tires filled

Thanks everyone for the replies , all good information! I should have the tractor down at my land this coming week and put it to work. Having the tires filled for sure gives me a bit of peace of mind but I know I will be ever vigilant when working on slopes and hills.
