What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Was able to spend a hour moving some dead/dying Scots Pines. With no additional clay soil brought in for my little wildlife pond/scrape it holds water for a few days after a rain. I intend to let settle till next spring and then truck in clay.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I spent three hours knocking down/ pulling Scot pines out that died due to pine wilt. My property was at one time a Christmas tree plantation and back then Scot pines were what was planted. It took a bit to get the right technique down to push them over and then grab them with the grapple and...

LA525 loader on L2501 control linkage lubrication question

The reason I had asked about this issue is that the loader control (joystick) has become sluggish returning to a "neutral position". Even to the point to where I need to bring it to a neutral or centered position.

LA525 loader on L2501 control linkage lubrication question

My LA525 loader owners manual mentions under lubrication to "also lubricate joints of control lever linkage every 10 hours". The manual neither shows where these lubrication points are and also somewhat unclear as what to use for Lubrication, meaning grease or oil. As this is a area I have not...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Started the day by helping my neighbor move her deer blind with tractor and loader. Then continued on with my pond dig. I am getting close to being able to shoot elevations and think about how I am going to construct a spillway. I plan on having clay trucked in and lining with at least 6...

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

I am restoring 56 acres to Oak Savanna/native prairie in central Wisconsin and I am starting to get results. This is a great Spangled Fritillary on a native Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) plant.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I started digging a wildlife scrape/pond with my L2501 and front loader. This is the first time I have attempted loader work and things are a bit tricky as I use hand controls for the HST forward and reverse. Getting full buckets of soil more often than not after a few hours of practice. I hope...

Thoughts on two 72 inch rotary cutters ?

Thanks for your input Roadworthy! The King Kutter has a estimated weight of around 700 lbs. My L2501 manual is telling me the lifting capacity 24 inches behind the lift points is still close to 1400 lbs. I know that Kubota calls for a 5 foot mower behind the L2501 but my circumstances are...

Thoughts on two 72 inch rotary cutters ?

Does anyone have any thoughts on a Landpride light duty rotary cutter 72 inch compared to the King Kutter Domed flex hitch cutter in 72 inch? My Kubota dealer quoted the Landpride at $1900 with shear bolt, $2100 with slip clutch, pre-tax. My local farm store sells the King Kutter for $1399 with...

Anybody have a ROPS mounted canopy on a compact tractor?

I built a rops mounted canopy for my B7100 and as you can see much tighter on headroom. My buddy is 6’ 1” and still has about two inches of clearance. I am 5’ 11“ and have never hit my head while driving even over the roughest terrain. Mounting and dismounting needs to be done with a bit of...

    Introduction B7100 owner

Re: B7100 stuck in 4x4 I have a late model B7100hst so do not know if the below info will help or not. One day out of the blue I was not able to shift between 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive. Turns out it was a simple fix. The lever to engage/disengage the front axel uses a spring and...

    Find it pretty amazing

While my late model B7100 HST is "only" 23 years old it has been a wonderful little machine . I find the quality quite amazing. Purchase with 799 hours I am now at close to 1300. It has never left me stranded out in the field however the Radiator was replaced, the seat, and the bearings in...

    hp ? ... torque ... hmm

I enjoy at times looking tech specs up. These figures are from Kubota's US engine site that lists torque / hp specs. I am using specs for hst drives not gear drive tractors. (that may well make a difference on pto speed and engine speed?) Comparing the L2501's engine to the B2650 engine...

    hp ? ... torque ... hmm

I would assume that also, but is not fuel economy a whole different issue than HP versus torque versus size of implement and the 5hp rule ?

    hp ? ... torque ... hmm

I should have been more clear about what I disagree with. You're correct in that if an engine is rated at 25 hp it does not matter if the fuel is gasoline or diesel. What I disagree with is the generalization of a rule of thumb such as 5hp per foot of implement and in this case being a rotary...

    hp ? ... torque ... hmm

I would have to disagree . Given two examples from the list of Kubota engines in the op I would much rather have a engine rated at 24.8 hp developing a maximum foot pounds of torque of 70.2 at 2200 rpms then a engine rated at 24.8 hp with a maximum foot pounds of torque of 59.1 foot pounds at...
