60" Mower deck - how to get to blades?

The bolts on my MMM turn counter-clockwise to come off. I cannot answer your question about how to lock up the fly wheel.

Welded Hooks and D ring to bucket

I'd like to do the same to mine but I don't weld too well. That looks good and I can see where that would have just so many uses.

60" Mower deck - how to get to blades?

Wedge a block of wood in between the mower blade and the mower deck. Then take a piece of pipe on the end of the wrench and you will gain a lot of torque, kind of like a cheater bar. If I did not do this I would never get my mower blades off. BTW, I drive my tractor up a set of ramps with the...

    Mid mount mower question

I am not sure of your BX2200 is like my BX1860, but my owners manual showed me how to lock an implement to the frame of the tractor to keep it from moving up and down while raising or lowering the MMM. Take a look at this picture, it should be self explanitory.

BX1770D and 12 Tons of Rip Rap

Re: BX1870D and 12 Tons of Rip Rap I'll check it out this weekend. I wish that I could check it out right now but I only get to see her on weekends. I love this site for the quality advice that I get here. I have a lot to learn about this tractor and I'll take advice from anyone that is...

BX1770D and 12 Tons of Rip Rap

Re: BX1870D and 12 Tons of Rip Rap Ben, I think that only applies to the FEL. My joy stick for the FEL has the same feature. However, the 3 point is not on a joy stick. It is on the right fender and is a simple lever. Push forward for down and pull backward for up. That lever controls the...

BX1770D and 12 Tons of Rip Rap

Re: BX1870D and 12 Tons of Rip Rap Ben, The poor driveway grading was lack of experience on my part. I just need to learn how to use it. I saw a post on this site somewhere that actually explained how to adjust the box scraper to get a crown in the middle of the driveway. Next time that I...

BX1770D and 12 Tons of Rip Rap

Re: BX1870D and 12 Tons of Rip Rap I bought a BX1860 in March and I have used it every weekend since then for everything from moving many tons (about 50 tons) of rocks to tilling a new garden and mowing 5 acres of property every weekend. I also have graded my driveway (not a good job for the...

Harbor Freight 3 point Quick Hitch is the shizzle

It is a line up and go situation but it still takes about 3 minutes from the time that I take one implement off and finish putting another one on. I did not take offense at your comment. I have just 3 months experience with a tractor. I am willing to learn anything that I can from whomever I...

Harbor Freight 3 point Quick Hitch is the shizzle

I think that I mentioned in an earlier post that I am not experienced with a tractor. Anyway, I would like to learn how to hook up a box blade or any other implement in three minutes without a quick hitch. It takes me that long just to adjust the turnbuckles after I get the top and bottom links...

Harbor Freight 3 point Quick Hitch is the shizzle

I have not noticed any difference in lifting capacity. The box scraper is only 382 pounds and the lift capacity at the ends of the rear lift is 992 pounds. The box scraper and the quick hitch together weigh less than 450 pounds. That is less than half of the lifting capacity at the lift ends.

Harbor Freight 3 point Quick Hitch is the shizzle

I don't know what the measurement is from side to side. I just know that it fit with room to spare on both sides. I would measure it and report to you but the tractor is 60 miles away from me right now. I agree with you on the top hook. My question to you is; where would I be able to get the...

Harbor Freight 3 point Quick Hitch is the shizzle

I have not really used the box blade yet for any projects. I practiced with it in a corner of my lot, to level ground and move some big rocks. It worked well for me but the ground was dry and mostly flat. I have turf tires on my tractor and they spun a time or two while I was scraping an area of...

Newbie 3 point hitch advise pls

I have a BX 1860. It is the first and probably the only tractor that I will ever own. At first I thought that I bought a tractor that was too small for my 5 acres but I have since discovered that it is really a powerhouse in a small package. My BX 1860 came with the front grill guard, the FEL...

Harbor Freight 3 point Quick Hitch is the shizzle

This weekend I was working with my new Land Pride BB1548 box scraper and when changing out my 3 point hitch sprayer I realized that the job of changing implements would be a lot faster and easier if I had a quick hitch. So, I went to Harbor Freight and found a quick hitch on sale for $109.00...

New BX1860 owner looking for advise

I finally purchased a LandPride box scraper. I bought the BB1548. This coming weekend I'll be practicing using it in the back part of my property that I cannot see from the house. I don't want to use it yet where the neighbors or my wife can see the carnage that I intend to make. I have watched...

    Slow Leak

I had a similar problem with one of my front tires. I was hauling some rocks over some rocky ground in the FEL and I noticed when I got back from the dump site that my RF tire went completely flat. I put 45 pounds of air in it, and the LF tire too. I checked both of the tires with a gauge for...

New BX1860 owner looking for advise

I actually don't have any experience with tractors so I don't know how to judge what is inconvenient or bad design. When I bought my tractor I was looking for something with a diesel engine because gasoline engines suck. All of my vehicles are diesel so that is what I stick with. I don't have...

It seems that the box scraper has a lot of fans. Now I have to go shopping. Thank you all for your advise.

New BX1860 owner looking for advise

Thank you Eric and Howie! I took a look at the link that Eric provided and I think that a box scraper looks like the most useful tool for my immediate needs. It looks to me like the BB05 or the BB12 would do the dirt spreading and driveway maintenance. The question that I have is; what are the...
