Good luck and God Bless going forward @NorthwoodsLife
As jellyroll (and others im sure) once said there is a reason the windshield is bigger then the rear view mirror
Your going to make me do at least a visual inspection on mine. I still have to old style. But to have that break while plowing this winter would be a very bad day. Sorry that this happened to you but things like this make some of us look at things we may otherwise not
This was yesterday, but I got more of the tree(s) (Mrs Trial and Error wanted another one dropped) cleaned up and got to truly test the balance of the little B. It did amazing and despite having one user induced failure on the forks frame that was fairly easily remedied, the forks are doing...
Well I found the weak link.
As. It turns out 4 foot forks at almost full dump pushing on a brush pile will find the weak link. That weak link was the 5/16 grade 5 bolts that where holding the tabs for the loader boom arm pins on the fork frame (sorry if that description confuses anyone).I did...
@pat80flhi hear ya on the part about NY and their over regulation/not much making sense. Tires in ny are a major chore and expense to dispose of. Others have made good suggestions tracks are probably a good idea.
Got do some more tests on the homemade pallet forks, I should be doing leaf stuff but I'm having too much fun "playing" with my new attachment, so much so that I decided to take down a decent size pine in the front just so I can use the forls for cleanup and see if it's significantly...
Mine got ratted up the first few uses, I ended up cutting 10-12 feet of cable off (since it had 50'i think) and I'll only ever need 20 at most. I can afford to lose another section in the future if it happens again . I find keeping tension on it when spooling helps a lot and guiding it in as...
Alright I made a liar out of myself, and since I have an amazing wife who can feed and tend to the newborn and she also gave me "permission and I also needed to move the bucket out of the trailer to use it for leaves in the coming weeks I decided to get the forks about 90% done and did some...
As promised earlier, pictures of the electric hoist trolley and unistrut track system. The trolleys are from Amazon and mounted to the H.F. hoist I received for Christmas last year. The unistrut mounting brackets are homemamde from recycled 2x4" 3/16 wall steel tube that I cut a notch into for...
Also not really tractor related but it will be used for the tractor.I just got done with the second 10' section of my trolly/hoist track , now I can run clear from one end of the garage to the other in one bay 20 feet total I only used a single track system but have lifted the entire front of...
I've been making small steps on the forks project, just haven't taken many photos things are a changing around here so I'll be unable to get any work on this project dne for about a week. But I've got one fork together and the other prepped to go together as well as a idea in my head and...
Nice job, I want the white stuff so send it my way but I need about a month to get leaves done
Edit: if those are the original trip springs you may need to either add additional ones or replace them with stiffer ones. I made a plow some years ago for a lawn tractor out of plate steel I...
I was up there as a kid, my aunt and uncle lived in St Louis at the time. I wish and hope I can experience it as an adult some day, becuase I'm not sure I appreciated it to the fullest as a kid
I am a glass half full kind of guy (not) I didn't mind the excersise but that was probably the most amount of manual snow removal labor I did that winter on my property
If my drivewaybas that flat and didn't have banks on either side I would be in good shape.
Below is an example of when I got a little overabitious the first year pushing the furrows over the edges. What you can't see is the large rocks under the tractor. It took me some time to dig out enough...
