    Rotary Cutter

There’s whole fields covered in the stuff here. Too bad there’s no use for it. Even drought doesn’t kill the stuff.

How often do you change the gearbox oil in your bush hog

I can only remember changing bush hog gearbox oil once in my life about twenty years ago. they usually rusted out first and got sold for parts.

What color attachment would you chose

Get the black. then after you use it, park it in the sun and the black will warm up more than orange would and melt off the snow before you put it away.

    50 Hour Service

The newer tractors come with UDT2 in the trans. Fully synthetic and will last 400 hrs with no problems. If yer changing it at 50 hrs it’s like throwing away brand new oil. I get what everyone is saying about the shavings etc in the oil, but that’s what the filter is for.

New BX25D but transmission case has a hairline crack

What’d the previous owner say? When you checked it out, were you on dirt or grass? You might not Have noticed it leaking if you were. Can’t believe it just started leaking after putting it on a trailer. its a bad deal, but if you cant get yer money back, it’s not a show stopper. It doesnt look...

New BX25D but transmission case has a hairline crack

1979 Kubota B6100 HST. Buy or not to buy

Pretty sure a B6100 PTO turns CW. Nice 8N. I had one once but it wasn’t practical for my usage. I love old Ford trucks and tractors. That’s a good deal for deal for $750. Don’t let it get away!

BX 80's- drive over deck or not?

I drive over my deck sometimes once a week (that’s actually twice one on one off) and it causes no problems. but I never have the loader on when I drive on it. Probably makes a difference. The decks are pretty stout, but the gauge wheel mounts are cheesy. You have to have the deck on the ground...

B2601 - Keep 3PH up while mowing with MMM

Normally the lift arms will float, but the weight of the deck makes it seem like they won’t. Not sure there is a way to not have them lower when mowing. I’ll have to look at mine tomorrow.

    Does your Tractor "cut out?"

Probly the seat safety switch. If yer not on the seat all the way or leaning it’s enough to open the switch and cause what you’re describing. Most of us just bypass it.

    Anti-scalp wheels

It doesn’t always have to do with having the wheels too low. I have the same problem on uneven ground. Swivels would be nice, but you’ll have to probably fab up some mounts and weld or bolt them to the deck. That’s what I’m thinking of doing.

    A little over twelve feet.

    B2601 mid Mount mower

It’s not on the attachment list for that model, but I’m sure the dealer would sell you one and it would work just fine. If you have a lot of contour to your lawn, you might not like the cut though.

    Fuel can options

Check out garage sales and flea markets for the old style vented cans with real spouts not the EPA UN bull5hit cans. I have enough to last the rest of my life and if the spouts go bad the Tractor Supply ones usually fit just fine. I don’t know how anybody can use those new cans.

    On Line Kubota Parts

Yer gonna find Kubota parts are never really “discounted” anywhere. The local dealer is the best source unless it’s not in stock then mail order is the alternative. There used to be some deals on OEM filters etc on eBay, but not so much anymore.

    bush hog sharpening

I just pull mine into the my shop building and raise it up as high as it’ll go. Lock the PTO, and wedge a block between the blades and the deck. Then I just roll under with an angle grinder and let the sparks fly. Not pleasant, but gets it done. It makes a difference. Some of the places I mow...
