    Treating Mower Decks

I’ve used POR 15 before and it worked good. Held up for two summers. I also used something called Slip Plate which shed grass build up better. Good prep is key with both. I blasted my decks, but you have to strip everything off to the bare shell. You could probably get away with a good wire...

    Help me decide

You won’t like using a loader without power steering. See what you could get on a trade for something used with a loader and 4wd. I added power steering to a tractor once, and while it was pretty straightforward, it took some fabricating and finagling.

For the money, I’d rather just have separate remote.

    Air Filter Cleaning?

Be careful of eBay “genuine “ filters. I’ve gotten phony pirated so called OEM filters from there. They don’t fit right for starters. And stay away from aftermarket filters like the Kumar Brothers brand. Totally inferior. Just bought a new filter for a 2601 at Dooleys and it was $24.00. Not...

    Wet clay and sinking BX2380

I’ve used planks before to accomplish what yer doing. Planks with cleats. I put a chain on them to move them around. Major PITA .Use thick oak or hickory planks At least 12 inches wide. Other than that, I stay out of that stuff till it’s dried out. If it’s an area that don’t dry, good luck.

    Oil filters on b2601

Get the WSM and it’ll show the hydraulic oil flow in a schematic and you’ll see how it all works. I never looked at the manual for a 2601 (haven’t needed too, yet) but it’s my guess the charge pump for the hydrostatic has its own filter for a good reason.

    Can my B2601 handle this?

It’ll handle it. But if your lawn is not flat, a six foot mower might not give a good even cut in some places. I cut about five acres a week with mine in the summer with a 60 MMM in med. gear with the go pedal mashed and it takes about 3 1/2 hrs. Comes out nice.

Recommendations needed for----preowned small Kubota tractor or lawn mower

if only mowing, get something light like a garden tractor with the biggest deck it’ll take. Something with a diesel engine and hydrostatic would be the best. I mow with a 2601 and it’s certainly not optimum, IMO too heavy for regular mowing duty, but my property kinda demands it. Otherwise I’d...

    Woods C80 mower on 2601

Go ahead. Should be no problem. I used a 6’ bush hog behind mine this past summer while my Ford was down. It didn’t seem to mind as long as I didn‘t go crazy with it. I gotta say, I prefer 3 pt mowers over that pull behind one though.

    54" or 60" Box Blade for B2601

IDK. Box Blades usually don’t angle, unless you contort your hitch to angle it. I’ve done that. Anyway, I have a six foot yard box I use with mine. Works fine. Five foot will work on yours. When I had a five foot box, I use to put cement blocks on it when using the diggers to really get them...

    B2601 or L2501

If you dont need a mid PTO, and weight doesn’t matter, go with the L. It has more lifting power.

    Methol Hydrate

Is the fabric enclosure on bare ground? Ventilated? Those are the worst things to trap moisture on bare ground. If it’s in the sun, its even worse. Warm in the day, cold at night. Condensation on everything and inside the engine and transmission.

    Why No Seat Belt Interlock?

How about an IQ test before the tractor will start. :giggle: If road going vehicles had that, half the population would be stuck home.

    B2601 regrets?

I have had one two and a half years and 320 something hours as of now, good little tractor. No issues with it. Just about all the hours are mowing in the hot Tennessee sun. I actually used a 6’ bush hog on it for a while this past summer with no problems if I took it slowly in the heavy stuff.

    Turning a tractor over

A 2601 with a loader can be tipped pretty quick with a full bucket held even a few feet off the ground. I know. I get mine on a 45 deg angle with a mid mower without any trouble. No loader mounted. The mower kinda acts like an outrigger at times...although I wouldn’t recommend anybody do what...

B2601 Treadle Pedal hard to use

Right. Something like a hand operated override. Years ago I had a Cub Cadet 1450 which was hydrostatic and it had a dash mounted lever which you could set in a position and leave it there. The brake pedal over rode the lever for emergency stopping etc. simple and easy to operate hydrostatic...

B2601 Treadle Pedal hard to use

I’ve got 300+ hrs and it still feels the same. i probably wouldn’t mind it if I had a good knee on that side. And the cruise control is lousy on these. If they upgraded these two items I’d trade mine in a minute for a new one.

Does something like this exist for the Kubota tractor?

Wait’ll they can access yer tractor and disable certain options unless you pay the annual subscription ala Tesla. I like my tractors and my vehicles dumb.
