    Which rotary cutter

I've been running a dedicated Brush Cutter on my property for the last 10 years and it is easily some of the best money ever spent. IF you have a real need for a brush cutter...then get just that (not a string trimmer with a blade attached). I went with the Echo SRM-410U. It is shaft driven...

    Engine RPM's while mowing?

^^^^^^ Same. My Tractor has a certain engine RPM that results in 540 RPM at the PTO and I run it within a small 'window' depending on cutting conditions. My Zero turn is run at 3600 rpm (WOT) since that is the ideal speed for engine performance and cooling.

belt tension gauge for mower deck?

Belt material/quality IS important on most mowers. Depending on the mower make/model the belt 'route' can place a lot of stress on a belt owing to the angles the belt is subjected to. The belt route on most Land Pride mowers is not too convoluted but still has a number of 90° and 180° bends...

    Thought for today

I think you have the 'order' of that wrong. There are 'some' folks I might "Sit Down" with....but only after having had a few drinks. Not the other way around. ;)

Front weights for Kubota zero turn mower?

Hmmmmm....not a bad idea. I have a Scag Cheetah and one area that I mow (near the FM road frontage) is steep. In order to mow it right up to the edge of the road and also be facing traffic, I have to go uphill first. IF I am not careful to NOT give it too much acceleration (stick) it will...

Vertically telescoping intermediate plate for additional height on pallet forks

^^^^^ Correct. IF the OP's intention is to lift items on a pallet to the height specified AND leave them on a pallet, then adding pallets underneath will accomplish nothing. I suppose there are several ways to remedy the problem, but personally....I wouldn't spend any time or effort trying to...

    Tractor Disasters and Owner Abuse

All of my vehicles are 4WD and all are equipped for 'Self Recovery' (save for the most extreme circumstances). While it is certainly true 4WD (in most forms) can take you farther from 'help' than 2WD will, I still view 4WD as something beneficial. Of course... it is incumbent upon the...

    Tractor Disasters and Owner Abuse

Well it can work that way too. ;) Often times depending on the ability of the operator to make 'good judgments'. I have certainly been stuck in some of my 4WD drive vehicles over the years. But in those 50+ years I can honestly say it was probably less than a dozen times. I have a...

    Tractor Disasters and Owner Abuse

The whole purpose of having 4WD is to enable you to 'reasonably' go places you could not traverse in 2WD. Not as a safety/rescue measure for using 2WD only. Learn the capabilities of your 4WD, drive judiciously....and you'll avoid becoming stuck the majority of the time.

    Musk's New Truck

Looks like a high-school science project and not a good one at that. Where is the 'Truck' part of it? Or does it just 'identify' as a Truck?

How often do you change oil?

Every 100 hrs (and filter) on my tractor. Every 50 hrs. on my ZTR.

    Battery Fires

Battery fire burned my Scag Tiger Cub to the ground. Good thing I had it parked outside a storage building at the time. I was walking the dog one afternoon, went down by my shop area and was shocked to see it fully on fire! I always fill the fuel tanks after each mowing....so it had 10...

    Mowing in mud

The slope of that hillside is right at the cusp (if not beyond) what a tractor might be able to handle. The trouble with those type of scenarios is that all you need to have happen is to drop a tire off in a small hole/depression on the downhill side and the momentum will carry you over every...

    Was this luck or skill?

It doesn't look extraordinary to me really. Driver simply took the only options (openings) available.

    A/C issuses M126GX

Good. Then we can assume the fan is pulling/pushing enough air across the radiator and condenser to prevent 'heat soak' in the engine compartment. I think the suggestion to look at the heater circuit (not fully closing) might indeed be where some or all of the trouble is.
