    Buying a used machine

It is.....BUT it identifies as a silver, metal discharge handle. ;)

    Buying a used machine

^^^^^^ Same for me. I'm sure it can depend on usage and exposure to the elements, but my L2350DT turned 28 yrs old this past may. Just logged 1100 hrs on it. Never replaced a hose and has NO leaks anywhere. A couple of years ago I did have one cylinder start to drip a bit, so I just went...

    Is this attached correctly?

I added the front roller to my FDR 1672 and it does prevent the deck from really digging in sometimes....but it doesn't prevent all 'scalping' if you have a rough area to mow.

    Is this attached correctly?

Very close to perfect. When I set my finish mower up I place the tractor and mower on a level surface. Set the lower connection points so they are 'level'. Then adjust the top link so that the bore holes of the top connection and the lower connections 'align' (as if you were to drop a plumb...

    The Bushwacker !!!!!!!!!!

If necessary for Female Grooming/Hygiene you don't wanna be down there. Moderators please delete if this is too crass.

    The Bushwacker !!!!!!!!!!

Chain Saw type blades cut the fastest.....hands down. No question about that. If I know I will be cutting larger brush (mostly Chinese Privet here) I will put a 9" Beaver Blade on it. It is a shock absorbing design and the chains are replaceable after you've sharpened them down to nothing...

    The Bushwacker !!!!!!!!!!

The 'saw tooth' blade that comes with the Brush Cutter is fine for coarse grass, weeds, vines and VERY small saplings (1/2") but not much else. 'Chain Saw' type blades cut the quickest but be prepared to sharpen them often....and ONLY use good quality blades such as Forester or Beaver Blade...

    L2350 Radiator cap

Anything would be better than the rudimentary 'whistle' that the tractor comes with, but I chose to install a real, live 'temp gauge'. I want to be able to see any potential over-heating events coming, not react to it after it has happened. A radiator cap with a temp read out would certainly...

    Dead tree removal

Its fairly well rotted already and not too large (doesn't appear). IF you are in decent physical shape....then a Pickaxe and 15-20 minutes of your time should dislodge it. Cut the any remaining roots and use the tool to lever the stump out.

    The Bushwacker !!!!!!!!!!

That's kind of what I was thinking as well. A self correcting problem. We don't want anyone with no more sense than that....contributing to the gene pool.

    Kubota 725z zero turn

Check your fluid reservoir first (especially if you are hearing a distinct whining sound). Next determine if you have 'Wheel Motors' or Transaxles at each side. There should be repair kits available for either.

    Question about cut grass

I use mulching blades on my Zero Turn and finish mower. Doesn't leave much of any clippings (length) behind, but if it does...the very next day (or two) that will be dried and I just go back over it quickly. Its great fertilizer for the and actually helps to build top soil. I would never...

    The Bushwacker !!!!!!!!!!

Good choice. The SRM410U comes with a 5 year (consumer/homeowner) warranty...though its a pro brush cutter. It is shaft drive (very rugged). It is 43cc (not the smaller engine of the Stihl Kombi), plenty of power for cutting larger brush 4"-5". A dedicated brush cutter will let you cut within...

    Cautionary Tale - 71 isn't the new 23

At my age....I'm so brittle that if I took a fall like the OP....they 'Never would get me put back together again', so I try not to get Humpty-Dumpited. Some of the younger folks here probably don't recognize that old childhood rhyme.

    Equipment fires

Had a similar experience only not as expensive a loss. I keep an extinguisher in ALL vehicles and on all equipment (tractors, mowers, etc). Was walking my Dachshund one afternoon and when I turned the corner to go behind my shop...I was horrified to see my Scag Zero Turn mower on FIRE...

    Which rotary cutter

I have Carbide tipped chains for my Echo Polesaw and a small CS-303T chainsaw. I'll use the carbide on the Polesaw when I know I'll be in dirty wood or cutting greenbrier, etc.... The 303T wears a carbide chain always.... as I use it to flush cut small stumps right even with the ground...
