Just when I thought I'd seen everything....

^^^^ If true, that would certainly put a different 'spin' on things (no pun intended). It would also make the entire situation more understandable (someone bragging or taking a dare). Through time immemorial.....there have always been men/boys with more bravado than brains.

Just when I thought I'd seen everything....

^^^^^ Yep, the idiot that turned on the lathe (thinking it would be funny) needs to have his A$$ kicked up around his ears.

    Block Heater L2350 question

^^^^^ Hopefully I will be able to see or measure the depth of the cylinder wall after removing the freeze plug and the coolant level is low enough. I don't want to hit the cylinder wall and the instructions DO warn against that situation. Thanks all for the replies. Probably should have...

    Block Heater L2350 question

Perhaps it is self evident....I don't know. I have ordered a Block Heater for my Kubota L2350DT. I can start it in cold weather (sub 30°F temps) but it takes a few minutes of running the glow plugs and cranking the engine. Engine will fire, quickly die, repeat....until it finally warms up...

Hey Meat-Head, ain't no such thing as a 10 minute project......A pictorial guide on how to piss off your wife AND burn a Sunday in style.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh....! ;) I know that, and you know that, but SHE doesn't know that (I think).

Hey Meat-Head, ain't no such thing as a 10 minute project......A pictorial guide on how to piss off your wife AND burn a Sunday in style.

^^^^^^ Yeah, 40 years for me. I can fix stuff also, but I'm pretty sure when it gets to the point that I can't get the lids off of jars, my days will be numbered. ;)

    Kubota Slapped With 11M Fine

Seems there might two solutions. 1. Make all equipment a virtual billboard of warning labels. 2. Remove all such labels and let the 'stupid' people slowly wipe themselves out. A self correcting problem. Could take a while....but might be worth it. ;)

    Kubota Slapped With 11M Fine

Absolutely with you on that (loaning of equipment). Our society has become so litigious....it warrants careful forethought.

    Kubota Slapped With 11M Fine

My own contribution on the subject of personal responsibility. I worked for many years in the engineering dept of a high end Class A Motor-home Manufacturer. In the mid 90's the company was successfully sued by an owner when his wife was burned by a pot of hot beans left cooking on a...

    Kubota Slapped With 11M Fine

Respectfully, it amounts to a gross mis-characterization of the event. I am not accusing you of purposely doing that (perhaps you simply had bad information). But it makes a BIG difference with respect to what actually took place. A person innocently jogging along a path that both the land...

    Kubota Slapped With 11M Fine

^^^^^ Where did you come up with this information? Everything I can find on the accident indicates the tree (along with others) had been inspected 2-3 years prior and the tree company simply recommended 'fertilization' despite recognizing some basal decay in the tree. Even the owner of the...

^^^^^^ Fixed it for you....... ;) Other than that little problem.....I agree with you entirely.

Hertz to sell 20,000 EVs in shift back to gas-powered cars

^^^^^ Yep, should not have required a Abject Lesson to see it was a patently bad idea from the start. But it seems the world is full of 'wokeness' and educated idiots these days. Just ask Budweiser.

    Gear heads ,,283

^^^^ Exactly right . Full tune ups every 10-12K miles were the norm and an engine overhaul at around 80K-100K depending on use and maintenance. Certainly a rebuild at 120K+ (back in the day).

    Gear heads ,,283

283 of that vintage would have been built to run on leaded gas, so changing out valve seats (for hardened seats) might be necessary if the Lad plans on driving it very much or very hard. Assuming the cylinder bores are not scored or out of round....a person 'could' do a garage type 'overhaul'...

    Tractor "school"

Correct again. An 'open' differential (front or rear) can/will 'bias' power to one side more than the other depending on circumstance. So 'Engine' Braking or braking through the drive train alone could exist more at any two tires. However....under just the right conditions all four tires could...

    Tractor "school"

Correct. There are no 'brake components' on the front axle of the tractor as has been clarified several times. The person posting that should have written braking EFFECT which can and does occur when in 4WD IF there is no center differential. The braking effect would manifest as extra traction...

    Tractor "school"

Yes. Person responsible may have gotten away with it few times before. Hard to say what happened exactly. I don't know if the person attempting to fell the tree was just lazy....or something about the tree got them 'spooked'. The tree looks to have been a 'leaner' to start with and possibly...

    Bunny hopping when slashing.

It IS a 'cut' Bronco and has factory wheels but they are the 16" optional wheels not the 15" standard. It has some other alterations as well (4 wheel disc brakes, NP435 four speed, lockers front and rear, 23 gal fuel tank, etc). I've owned this one for 40 years now.
