How to chain 3 point up

The drawbar came with the tractor- they are pretty common to find on ebay. Search Kubota B7100- they are always on there. I make the telescoping stabilizers, and they work fantastic. I have just made a new set, which are rectangular with flatbar that slides in and out, and they will work on the...

How to chain 3 point up

There should be a pin on the lift arm, on the opposite side of the heighth adjustment, just above the pin in the lower arm- that's where my chain attaches. It causes the 3 point to go a little crooked when it settles down, because the chain is pulling to the side, but it holds the lift up fine...

    convert HST to manual?

It should have a neutral position on the high/low lever. My guess would be that Kubota did design the tractor in a manner that the trans is a unique unit between a common front unit and rear end, but I would be surprised if there weren't some issues to work through to convert it. That being...

5' Box Blade & Cutter ok for L175?

4' implements are out there, but not as plentiful as 5' or 6'. My B7100 (16 hp) handled a 6' back blade fine, unless I tried to move a blade full of gravel, and it handles a 5' finish mower fine. A 5' box blade will be hard, depending on what you are trying to move, and how much.

    Used B7100 advice

In general, the B7100 is a fine piece of equipment, able to do more work than it looks like it could, is easy to maintain and forgiving, and very reliable. 700 hours, if the meter is working and has worked, is nothing. You will see others with 3-4,000 hours, still going. The oil being black...

Be wary of industrial bar tread

The original topic was about compact tractors, not large farm equipment. I think that the reason that most compact tractors come with industrial tires is because the industrials serve a compact tractor best, for what they are used for. There is no question that deep ags serve best in mud and...

Stupid to ask this probably, but do you have the parking brake set?

    L185DT 4WD control

Just test it and see- back up a steep grade of gravel or grass, and see if the back tires slip. Then (probably) move it down, and see if the tires slip. That will tell you if it is the 2WD/4WD lever, and if the 4WD works. I'm not scolding you or anything, but you should have checked that out...

Rammed a branch under the tractor...

If Kubota isn't going to make a better design, then they should at least install a collapsable driveshaft, so that the fan can be changed easier. I love Kubota, and any manufacturer has one or more engineering oversights- but this could be corrected...

Rammed a branch under the tractor...

hydrostatic systems produce a lot of heat, and the fan helps to dissipate the heat. It may not be the best design, but it is necessary. I think a skid plate could be fashioned while still allowing airflow. A lot of hydrodrives have fans, but not all of them are in such a precarious location.

    Missed it twice

AGREED! I just watched a camper for one of those too-good-to-be-true prices, and it was. It was also listed in other states. I have little doubt that it is a scam. They are floating around everywhere theses days.

    Hydraulic problem/whine on L235

I have a friend with a 4WD L235. He recently replaced the hydraulic pump on it. At the time, he had also replaced the hydraulic filter, and found paper element loose in the filter. He says that the 3 point hitch works fine up and down, but the pump whines, like it is under load. Are there...

    B2920 Advise Please

x3. I had similar thoughts about a rear mount finish mower, but after getting used to it, I love it. It's on and off fast, cheaper, and probably will take more of a beating. I mow with a B7100 and a Woods RM59 on mountain land, and have no issues. I back it up under trees and bushes, hang it...

Problem with using 4wd all the time?

Your tractor is built differently from a truck or car- the components are heavier. Plus, all of the drivetrain turns all the time, whether 4WD is engaged or not. So, minus the load imposed on the drivetrain, the parts are still wearing out. If you are using the loader a lot, then being in 4wd...

    brake chatter

Pull it apart and see what you got- you should be able to tell what shape the brake pads are in, and if there is an oil leak- that may cause you problems, too. Brake pads on tractors seem to last forever- I'd look for an oil or grease source, first.

    B7100 & Woods finish mower?

My 7100 has almost 700 hours on it now, the previous owner (original owner) bought it new, with the mower, and it hasn't suffered any consequences yet. I'm not too worried about it. I don't know exactly how much a Woods RM59 weighs, but I see no need to worry or change my setup.

    Interest in stabilizers?

Thanks. I really appreciate the set I have on my tractor, and know that others would, too. I am not looking to get rich, just cover my expenses and labor. The set on Ebay sold for material costs. The right materials has been hard to find- the stabilizer needs to be small. I will keep working on...
