Has anyone actually replaced the HST fan on a BX series tractor?

I just read a long post today on mytractorforum, about a John Deere 2210. Not only does similar steps need to be taken to replace the fan, you have to tear the tractor apart to grease the u-joints. It looks like Kubota isn't the only one with design flaws. The JD/Yanmar actually looks worse to...

    Kubota Tractor B8200 HST

Welcome to the site, John! I wish that I had an answer for you, but someone will. There are some very experienced and knowledgable folks here. I think you will grow to appreciate the site, like we all do.

    Kubota vs. Mahindra

Honest opinion? I think that most all compact tractors today are comparable and will provide a similar amount of service. Prices may vary, but you will get that even between dealers. I have scoured over the Mahindra's, and they look like well built machines. That being said, Kubota's footprint...

Using STP as additive in Hydraulic system

I agree. There is a phsychology to their methods- we think that adding a little of this or that will increase life, power, and reliability. But, the manufacturers spend millions on R&D, and their recommendations are invariably the best route to go. My wife has a 2000 Ford Windstar. I was going...

Will any 60 inch mower fit on my L2990

Have you contacted a Kubota dealership? I wish that I had an answer for you, but I don't. I would imagine that a dealership should be able to tell you what to look for. Is this a belly mower that you are looking for? If you can't find one, then you could always get a rear finish mower. There...

    broken front differential shaft l3410

I doubt if you can, or want to weld it. That is a critical point, and would be difficult to weld, and to keep it perfectly lined up. You should replace the pinion shaft.

    Used B7100 advice

I just saw your post on the price- by the sound of things, it is overpriced quite a bit. I bought mine in excellent condition, garage kept and original owner, for a lot less than that. Unless you can't find them easily in your region, I'd either counter him with an offer, or walk away.

    Used B7100 advice

It sounds like either the tractor has more hours on it than the meter shows, or more likely, it was worked hard and minimally maintained. The clutch grabbing could easily be from sitting. Brakes will do that, too. They get a rust film on them. I think it is normal to need the glow plugs to start...

Rear Wheel very loose, wobbles, slides around on axle.

x2. It sounds like the locating pin has fallen out, broken, or didn't get put back in, and the hub has loosened. You will need to check the shaft and the bore of the hub for excessive wear- who knows how long it has been loose? You can buy replacement hubs on Ebay, if yours are wallowed out too...

    B7100 4wd and 2wd ?

It isn't the gears that are at issue- it's traction. When you are in 2WD and going down hill, you have most of your weight in the front of the tractor, and little over the back tires- so they slide. Either watch them yourself, or have someone else drive the tractor, while you watch. You will see...

    B6000 Advice

I think you made a good decision, based on the condition. If the 7100 looks to be a good candidate, then I think you will be happier- it is heavier and more powerful, and can accomplish more work. And, they are everywhere- the 7100 is a very common tractor.

    BX25 & Wood RM59 Finish Mower

Eric has a good suggestion- try it on first. I have a RM59- it is a top notch mower- which I use behind my B7100. You have more hp than I do, so the 25 will definitely power it. You should try it and see how light it makes your tractor in the front- it is a pretty heavy mower.

Maybe I missed it- did you solve the issue of diesel in your oil? You definitely need to get that resolved, if you haven't.

    Replace 1 front Tire

If it's a 2wd, then it's just an asthetic issue. If you have a 4wd, then you should make every effort to have two of the same tires on the front. If you can't afford it, then do it as soon as possible- while the drivetrain is well built and strong, you will subject it to extra stress with two...

    Horsepower and operational technique

In my opinion, what you are doing is fine, but a little overkill. As you get to know your tractor better, you will know when it is straining too much, and when it is in a safe operational range. It does not hurt it for the rpms to rise and fall some during operation- that is impossible to...

    Motor oil

It's fine. Use a quality diesel oil, and more imortantly than WHICH oil you use, service it on a routine basis. Routine is more important than which oil, or which kind (dino/synthetic). I change mine like clockwork- always have. Interestingly, a neighbor has an 86 Honda TRX 350 four wheeler...

72" inch finish mower OK for B7800?

It's kind of a moot point now, but I would have leaned towards the 6 foot finish mower-I run a 5 foot behind my B7100 (16 hp), and it pulls it fine.
