Pretty much spot on. NOTHING is EVER her responsibility and everyone should do whatever she needs or wants. When she wants it. She doesn’t care how much others have already done for her. She’s really lucky she’s my granddaughter, but has no clue. She’d be in a world of hurt without family. On a...

Well I guess that explains why I didn’t understand a wrong answer from Calc. I never use it in anything other than scientific mode. I’m a retired engineer, so like precise answers and I’m usually doing something a little more complicated than the subject problem if I bother starting MS...

Yesterday, I had to work on my granddaughter’s car, so moved the LX out of the shed so I could put her car in and work a little more comfortably. It’s cold here, but not freezing, yet still too cold to work on a car outside. So I parked the LX where I normally do, under a large oak near the...

If you press Enter between operations, the Windows calculator will assume you are grouping the addition and then multiplying the result. If have it set up right, it’ll show you how it’s solving what you type. If it makes an error, then the input is flawed.

Nope, @OntheRidge is correct. Addition would only be done first if grouped (in parentheses or braces). With no grouping, multiplication and division (inverse multiplication) are ALWAYS done first. Correct answer is 55.

[ Yeah, even just heating it and pounding a flat spot on the end so the clamp has something flat to bite on. Just need to make sure to quench it again, though, or it'll probably bend/fatigue pretty easily. Pretty sure you're not going to faze the steel in that tine with a hammer without...

Imagine, if you can, what goes through the mind of an electrical engineer (me) when he sees that. It could take quite a while to list all the problems with that kind of stupidity. There's ignorance, then there's just plain STOOPID. I REALLY hope my granddaughter doesn't see this meme. Well...

Have ya considered modifying the tines by putting a bend on the last inch or so of the part that the clamps bite down on? If there's room between the tines to do that, of course. A 1-inch bend would do the trick, and move the spring of the tine a bit closer to the frame. A few minutes with a...

I kinda thought fuel pumps were mostly plastic these days, but I'm also well aware of the fact I know NOTHING (yet) about diesel fuel pumps. I do know that my fuel filter is between the tank and pump, though with a gravity feed to the filter. What I do know however is that metal shavings in...

Is that metal shavings I see in the top photo? No bueno, amigo. You're gonna wanna know where that came from.

That can be said for a LOT of companies now. I could stand on a soapbox for days on that topic.

This poster on a bulletin board near the cafeteria doors at a military installation I was working at grabbed my attention one day. It is not a photoshop or modified in any way other than making it small enough to post on here. I took this photo because I couldn't believe what I was looking at...

Depending on the installation, if they all have tank style toilets, that's still one flush per apartment (minimum) with 'plunkie possibilities'. This is exactly one of the reasons I respect anyone that does sewer work of any kind for a living. I got a dose of it early in life when I was about...
