    I have Gore-Tex that I bought in the late 80's that I still use today. It ain't cheap, but it's worth it. Luckily, it was bought at 50% off. There are other, newer rain gear fabrics that may be better, but they ain't cheap, either.

    How does your joy stick feel after the "pop?" The same? Different? Pull the rubber boot up and take a look in there. May not solve your problem, but won't hurt to take a gander at the linkage.

    They probably have been changed. The original, factory filters are usually painted gray, but having said that, the first thing I do with used equipment is change the fluids.

    What size MMM does your BX have now? Your BX should be able to handle a 5' rear finish mower. Cut quality will be as good or better than the MMM. Question: why do you take your MMM off to do "other things?" I'm on flat ground and the only reason I've ever taken my MMM off was for maintenance.

    Squirrel, I think! Grrrr….

    Never had a squirrel (gray squirrel) chew wires on anything. FWIW, gray squirrels are mighty tasty, IMO.
