    BX1500 auger or handheld auger?

People welded with oxy acetylene for years before arc welding was common. So yes, you can weld with it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxy-fuel_welding_and_cutting I also forgot that you can cut with it. So that might be more practical than a plasma cutter in the near term. A good gen set does...

    BX1500 auger or handheld auger?

Good progress. In general using an auger on a BX is sub-optimal. But hey, life is often suboptimal. The driveshaft sleeve is a standard fit. You'll probably be able to un-seize it. Be very careful with the length, and making sure you have it sliding freely. If it's jammed and you lift the...

Can't decide on a tractor for the life of me.

That's a great machine with lots of attachments. Replacing that would be really hard. A BX is pretty bulletproof. You might get really unlucky, but if the guy sounds sensible, and the machine runs OK, it'll probably keep running for years. I bought a BX2350, which is the model the BX24 is based...

    L4802 vs MX5400

Welcome back Cathy. We've missed you. Every time I see an L4701 thread I expect to see you, and am disappointed when you don't show.

Used Del Morino 1.5 Rear Finish Mower 1,200?

It's unlikely to need a lot of servicing - sharpen the blades, grease the spindles via the grease zerks. They're pretty durable beasts. They hold value reasonably well, probably worth $1K or a bit more. Facebook marketplace, Craig's list or similar are likely to get you best price. There may...

    Lawn Vac for BX

How did that work? Rear discharge mower, and most of it goes on the tarp dragging behind? And you don't worry that some goes under the tarp, some falls off the back of the tarp etc? I'm still in favour of just mulching, and mowing more often. Our grass is pretty thick, so in spring and autumn I...

    L3200

Maybe sounds a bit high for an older machine that's been reasonably well used (i.e. not pristine). But, it has a loader, forks, box blade. It's pre-emissions, so it's basically the current L2502 without having the horsepower turned down. It's a good machine and a lot of people would like it...

There is one thing I despise about kubota, part pricing

I believe his tractor is actually a BX2350. So the replacement would be a newer BX. But there are a lot of BX models between a BX2350 and the current BX2380. There's a BX2360, BX2370 and BX2370-1, then the BX2380. A lot of parts are interchangeable, I put a loader from a BX2370 on my BX2350...

There is one thing I despise about kubota, part pricing

I'm still struggling as to why the fender needs replacing at all. What functionality of the machine is impeded? It's not going to end up with the machine not "lasting for 4K hours." It's just going to have a broken fender, which is purely cosmetic. Good news is that if it bothers you a lot...

There is one thing I despise about kubota, part pricing

I had a BX2350. Just about every piece of plastic on it was broken. Didn't change any of the functionality, so I never fixed any of them. I suspect there's very little market for new plastics because most tractor owners don't mind broken plastic - so they're expensive because they're slow moving...

    BX 2370

Ah, fair, if the problem is that the RPM is dropping. But if a deck is holding RPM, then it's doing the same thing it always did.

    Lawn Vac for BX

This is my preference. I'd rather mow twice without a vacuum than one with. Messing around emptying etc is a pain. Two short mows that I enjoy instead of one slow mow that I don't enjoy.

    BX 2370

Mid deck is a physical linkage. Hard to see that anything can degrade - you do the revs, it runs. Are you sure you aren't just getting used to the machine, and maybe your expectations are changing?

    1972 L210 value

Is that a loader frame or just a frame for a push bar? $3K seems a little pricy without a loader. Maybe $2-2,500? What else is for sale around you for that sort of price, and are they better or worse than this machine?

    Convince me… LX3310 to L3560

Do you need it? No. Will there be some things you do where a heavier tractor does more damage / isn't quite right? Yes. Will it make you happy every day you drive your new tractor / do a thing the LX couldn't have done? Probably. But only you can decide that. If you can afford it, have space to...

    L4802 vs MX5400

No real choice. If you're thinking about an L vs an MX, then you need the MX. It's bigger and better, and not much more money. I'd go the MX5400 (instead of MX6000) before I went to the L. Not that the L's a bad machine, the MX is just better. Go 4wd and HST. Unless you're doing long stretches...

    Truck / trailer questions

Amusingly, in NZ it turns out it's very very easy to re-register a trailer. In NZ you need a "warrant of fitness" every year for a trailer that's over about 5 years old. Mostly they check the bearings and hitch, the brakes if fitted, and look for rust. But it turns out you can reregister a...

    Advice from L3902 HST owners

Wow. Reminds me why NZ is the lowest cost producer of animal protein in the world (lowest carbon too). Because we just don't get those extremes. Every day is an open station day. Middle of winter I might see zero with a frost, but usually I just need a jumper. Middle of summer we get some days...

Kubota BX 1880 mower PTO locking cap.

That's pretty weird. Jiggle it / lube it / tap it a bit? It should just spring back, so one of the ball bearings or something has hung up a bit or it's gotten sticky.
