    B2601. 54" or 60" loader?

I have 54". I probably would have purchased the 60" if it were available, but I don't feel that I've missed it. Light materials I don't think refers to the construction, it refers to the fact that if you filled the 60" bucket with heavy materials the machine would have trouble lifting it. Of...

    Used BX23S vs BX25D

SSQA is easy enough to add. If it's only forks that you care about, the pin-on quick attach adaptor is also still available if you look hard enough, and has less impact on lift capacity. You'll have to specifically modify your forks to fit, but it's not that big a deal. I have a B2601 and in my...

    Blades ,no engagement.

Seems weird that the lever has no tension - I don't see how that relates to hitting a root easily. Have you knocked the PTO select lever from mid-PTO to rear PTO or something, in your hurry to disengage? I don't think those units have a shear pin, they rely on the belts to slip on the pulleys...

L3130 - suspected crankshaft damage - how to remove engine

Seems to me that the HST switch must be working. Because the tractor is running, you press the HST, and the HST switch notices you've pressed it and cuts the engine. The problem is that the OPC (the brain of the operation) will be saying "when the HST switch is triggered, check that there's...

Can't decide on a tractor for the life of me.

Probably should leave it there, but I'll do one more go round. Yes, the BX is the smallest "real tractor". But your point was that you thought there were lots for sale because nobody "upgrades" to a BX. But I'd suggest there's a lot more people upgrading from a ride on to a BX than there are...

Can't decide on a tractor for the life of me.

Respectfully, I disagree. I upgraded to a BX (from a ride on mower). Lots of people upgrade to a BX, and lots of people would love to have a BX. Certainly in my part of the world they're quite hard to come by, and when they're for sale at a sensible price they get snapped up. Some people though...

Can't decide on a tractor for the life of me.

There's lots of BXs for sale because there's lots of them sold. I don't necessarily think people underbuy then upgrade. I think people buy them for a smallish block, and then don't use them as much as they thought, or move to a different property that doesn't need a tractor.

Kubota M62, Or used Commercial Case, JD, JCB. Or Mini Ex?

Yes. But @NorthwoodsLife is indicating he has more time than money, and would like a machine to do it himself. So he's weighing up: - TLB (which isn't cheap) - Smaller excavator new (will do better than a TLB in my mind, but still not perfect) - Used large excavator I'd go for the last...

    BX23S Hood Release Not Releasing

My guess is that you have to cuss whilst doing it, or it won't work properly.

Kubota M62, Or used Commercial Case, JD, JCB. Or Mini Ex?

For your description I'd be looking at an excavator around 5 ton. If you don't have to trailer it, and you already have another tractor, I'm not sure what benefit you get from a TLB v's a dedicated machine. You can get some quite large used excavators - you could go way bigger than 5 ton if you...

    Starting threads properly

In NZ, lots of people buying old Toyota RAV4s. For farm use, much cheaper than an RTV, much better for many things. Has air con, heating. Goes most places an RTV will go. Can pull more trailer. Has nicer seats. In NZ, an RTV is around $20-30K. An old RAV4 is about $3K. If you really want, you...

Kubota M62, Or used Commercial Case, JD, JCB. Or Mini Ex?

Are you keeping the LX? If so, then I think an excavator is worth considering. You can position it and dig whatever you want, then get off it and use the LX to move the spoil. To me, it's a pain to have to keep lifting the outriggers and moving a TLB, and even more often if you're using the...

How often do you change oil?

I think the regulars lean old. I suspect I'm a spring chicken, relatively speaking.

    Mx6000

Nothing really wrong with Kioti or TYM. You're paying for metal, and there's a lot of metal in those machines. In the same way, some people like a Kubota LX, some like an L. The L is a lot more metal for your money, but less refined. There's no free lunch here. You get more HP and more metal...

    BX1860 to B2301 3pt Arm Length

2600mm from the front of the frame to the end of the 3pt. 200mm extra for the brush guard on the front. Internet converts that to 102 inches, or 8 foot 6 inches. Additional 8 inches for the brush guard. That's with the 3ph all the way up, a bit longer at the mid position, about the same all...

Binders and Chains or Ratchet Straps

I think commercial guys use chains because they're more durable. Straps wear out over time. For occasional use that's not a problem. Both work if used properly. I personally use straps, and I have big d-rings that I put on the hitch and under the chassis at the front, easy to run the straps...

In the US there remain discounts, and the easiest one to get is the equine discount: https://www.kubotausa.com/finance/special-offers/detail/2020-equine-membership-purchasing-program Canada has a discounts page. It appears to be empty. https://kubota.ca/offers-promotions This random dealer...

    Review of new BX 1880

One thing I neglected to answer - you asked if other manufacturers make similar machines. Short answer is yes, it's a common size. My sister in law has a small Massey Ferguson that's similar. I don't really like driving it, I don't find it as refined as the Kubota, but it's a tractor and a...

    BX1860 to B2301 3pt Arm Length

B2601 is a better machine for most purposes. It's not really much bigger than the BX, it's hard to tell from the official measures because they measure one without 3pt and one with usually. I moved from a BX to a B. I don't find it more tippy. More accurately, both of them drove fine on slopes...
