    L3800 Tie Down Points

Your "tractor" is not tied down sir, your loader (an "attachment) is with one chain, and a chain is around the tires and over the 3PH arms. NOTHING is attaching the frame of the tractor to your trailer. Your bucket is not resting on the trailer deck-if your curl cylinders bleed off the front...

    Open Center versus Tandem valve

Here is the issue/confusion, these valves work the same way-both are meant to operate DA (double acting) cylinders, but one (at NT) is described as Tandem Center: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200329586_200329586 While this one (at the SC) is described as Open Center, but...

    L3800 Tie Down Points

Good point, sorry. In general, you need 4 tie-downs, one at each corner to prevent side-to-side and lateral movement. All "attachments" must be lowered to the deck, and secured with at least one tie-down. There is lots of information at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)...

    Open Center versus Tandem valve

Dave, welcome to OTT. Technically, you need a "Tandem Center" valve for everything but a motor. The term "Open Center" has gotten used, abused and misconstrued on most tractor forums and at the Surplus Center as well. A Tandem Center valve will have the work ports blocked in neutral, thereby...

    L3800 Tie Down Points

Sorry guys, but that setup is not safe, or legal for quite a few reasons. If your hauling commercially your bound to get a ticket from Mr. DOT officer.

    Hydraulic part #???

Buy or build a gauge setup, it will be a great diagnostic tool. Here is a video on testing pressure, it's done on a green machine but the theory is the same. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TGyH7TDrdHQ

    Pallet forks for L4600?

There is a lot of negative reviews about Titan on the TBN forum, from loose fitting QA parts to bird poop looking welds to poor paint. Do your research, and ask yourself how they can sell a forks set (or grapple, or whatever) for hundreds less than anybody else ans also offer "free" shipping...

    Scraper hydraulics not working

What are you operating the extra function with? Is this mounted on the 3PH or the loader?

Did I just turn it into a boat anchor?

On the early BX's, the FEL valve came off with the loader and you had to hook the PB hoses together, much the same way you have to do with a backhoe. He neglected to plug these hoses together, the hydraulic system was in "relief" and caused the fluid to overheat.

BX25D backhoe valve, open or close

Your tractor has a Open Center hydraulic system., but at the lower flow rate of the BX series a splitter may be very slow. What splitter are you looking at?

    K1 Kerosene in new L3800??

Yup, no way I would use K1 in any diesel engine. By the time you put in any additives you'd loose the .40c savings anyway-and you'd be just guessing how much anyway.

    Grapple and Rear Remote

Why? How much flow does a 2x8 cylinder need? IF you have to much then the grapple will just slam open and closed and you'll have to buy restrictors to slow it down anyway. It's not like we are taking about running a hydraulic post hole digger or snowblower.

    Grapple and Rear Remote

Using any hose larger than 1/4" to feed a small grapple cylinder is wasting valuable real estate and your money.
