BT600 hydraulic line sizes and problems

A word of caution...I did not graduate summa cum laude so take my advice with the proverbial "grain." :) My intentions are pure but we know where good intentions are headed. Back "in the day," diesel was inexpensive! About the time I bought this tractor, I found 10 ea 5 gallon diesel cans...

BT600 hydraulic line sizes and problems

An additional thing that is helpful to me...color coding. Fortunately, two things helped me. The WSM has a diagram and color coding of the BT600 hoses AND, the hoses had the color coded tape on them also. Now, because I am replacing these hoses, I wanted to color code them again but the...

BT600 hydraulic line sizes and problems

I would agree with PoTreeBoy in re-using the current protection if it is not damaged. I haven't replaced that particular hose YET but have given that set up the eyeball. 20' of that stuff would be more than sufficient. Of course, the other thought is, if you're going to do something, do it...

    Caught Fire!

There was a bird nest with eggs in the loader joystick control housing for my BX23 last year. I was taking off the housing to inspect the lines and there it was! Never saw the culprit come or go! It is such a tiny opening, making a great place to raise a small family. :) I still have the...

    Steering cylinder repair

We're twins, RJM, along with q280z...we have BX23s. Good little machine. And, I had to replace the steering cylinder, too. Hope you get the repair completed. Pardon the thread drift. :-) Tractor Gal

I can't even spell it, let alone be one! :-) Your patience throughout was phenomenal. Many thanks.

BT600 hydraulic line sizes and problems

I come bearing wonderful news...success has found me! I ordered hoses from DHH and they arrived more quickly than I could get to them! But, I have replaced one of them and it fits perfectly. With the nylon sleeves I ordered on ebay, they are well protected and I am protected from any high...

BT600 hydraulic line sizes and problems

I wasn't clear with the discovery of my error. I discovered PRIOR to ordering, thank Goodness. I believe I will have the right hoses and fittings. Of course....as stated, I have made mistakes before. :) Thanks for letting me know that things can always be adapted. TG

BT600 hydraulic line sizes and problems

OK...surprise, surprise...I made an error! Hold the presses. :-) Yes, the longer hose referenced above does have a 90 degree female swivel JIC fitting. It has to go to the control valve and then to the backhoe. What was I thinking? Well, we can't delve into all of that. I have ordered...

BT600 hydraulic line sizes and problems

OK, q240z, thanks for posting. I just need to go ahead and take the plunge. The hose under the seat of this tractor that is from the pump does not have a 90 degree fitting. The 90 degrees only go to the control valve on this tractor. This hose is about 22" long and would have a JIC female...

BT600 hydraulic line sizes and problems

Wow...what an experience. And, how wonderful that your neighbor knew what to do. It can get pretty hot here in the SE and, during those hot months, I enjoy reading and iced tea...not sweet tea, however. Too many carbs and refined sugar is not good for us. I would love it but have to make...

BT600 hydraulic line sizes and problems

q240z, so glad to see that someone else owns the same BX23 model with the same BT600 backhoe! Your hose experience certainly resonates. And, yes, changing those BT600 hoses is quite an experience. I've recently looked at the hoses on the loader and see that it would be wise to be pro-active...

    mid-mount mower belt replacement

Thanks for the input, gentlemen. My mind was tending toward the OEM belt as recommended here. I had checked reviews for some of the others and they were not good. Plus, if the replacement is slightly smaller or larger...what a mess it would be. One of the motivators for getting a belt now...

    mid-mount mower belt replacement

My tractor (BX23) has a 60" mid mount mower, RCK60B-BX22. Currently, it doesn't need a new belt but I want to get one since it need one at some point. Wouild anyone recommend a good belt, perhaps other than from Kubota? Some of these parts are quite pricey. Thanks for suggestions. TG

how to adjust rear tire clearance for RCK60B-22BX on a BX23 MLB

Very interesting responses to this thread. Thanks to all...confusing posts included. :) As already stated, there is a BX23 MLB. That is on the identification plate of this tractor. And, it is confusing. When I buy parts, at Messick's for example, I have to click on a BX23D. So...there ya'...

how to adjust rear tire clearance for RCK60B-22BX on a BX23 MLB

Lots of things to consider from the above posts...and I thank each of you for responding with information. It does appear that one of the rods is bent and that bend may be just enough to reduce the clearance. I'll have to look to see how to straighten it without creating other problems! As...

how to adjust rear tire clearance for RCK60B-22BX on a BX23 MLB

While working in the woods to clear some thorn bushes, the mid-mount mower seems to have "shifted" backwards so that it is now sporadically grazing the rear tires of the tractor. The clearance between the rear of the mower deck and the tires was quite small when I got the tractor and I tried to...

BT600 hydraulic line sizes and problems

Just thought I'd update...per the saying, "Nothing to see here." :-) It's been over a week and I'm still processing. Nothing ordered yet. I've been using the backhoe to dig up some thorn bushes that are taking over the joint before the weather gets too hot. (I'm a weenie because I don't...

BT600 hydraulic line sizes and problems

Thanks for the answers. I've got to process the info. One of the issues is that I haven't taken the hose off the tractor to actually see what is there. I had been hoping to continue using the tractor until the new hoses come. Guess I was wrong! Thanks again.

BT600 hydraulic line sizes and problems

OK, I need to return to this thread for additional help. The right quick disconnect that I need to order is somewhat confusing. I think I like TheOldHokie's idea is better...easier to connect and seals with an O ring so less likely to leak. The hose itself is going to have to have a male...
